EVALUATION GUIDELINES
FOR STUDENTS OF
ACADEMIC YEAR 2016-2017

1. INTRODUCTION:

1.1. Exams: Computer based On Demand Examination

Computer based examinations attempted through approved exam centre s are called Exams. Computer based
examination can be scheduled 'On Demand' at student's convenience through the SCDL website. The result of
the examination will be declared officially within 15 working days, from the date of exam taken/appeared.
Exams can be attempted at any time during the program registration validity for current and previous semester
courses/ subjects. On Demand Computer based examination is the mode of examination which facilitates
students to schedule the exam on desired date, time slot and in a nearby test centre, at their own convenience.
A student can book a slot through his / her own Student login Approved Exam Centre. For Computer Based
Examination, SCDL has 76 exam centres. You can appear for Computer Based Examination as per the booked
slot through these exams centres.

1.2. Assignments:

Computer-based assignments submitted through SCDL website (Student Centre login) are called Assignments.
Assignments can be submitted at any time during the program registration validity for current and previous
semester courses/ subjects.

2. EVALUATION METHODOLOGY

2.1. For Two Year Post Graduate Diploma Programs (PGDBA, PGDBF, PGDIB, PGDITM):

a) The two year Post Graduate Programs consist of four semesters. The first two semesters consist of
Foundation Courses while third and fourth semesters have specialization courses. For each course, there will
be an assignment and a computer based examination. Students are requested to study regularly and attempt
Assignment/s, and Computer based examination/s of each subject, every semester and completes the
respective program in the duration of two years. The registration period is valid for four academic years
b) It is mandatory for all the students to appear for all semester courses. Students can book exam slot from the
third month of the commencement of the program.
c) On-Demand Computer Based Examination: For each course (except Project) there will be a computer based
and descriptive examination of total 70 marks. Minimum passing marks are 35. Students are required to pay.
Examination Fees separately for each attempt. Students may give backlog exams (for failed subject’s courses)
anytime during their registration validity period.
d) Assignments: For each course, there will be a Computer Based, assignment of 30 marks. Minimum passing
marks are 15. In case of failure, students may avail one free attempt and two paid attempts. The student
is required to pay for each paid attempt.
e) Diploma Certificate is awarded to the student subject to passing in all examinations, assignments and project
report, as applicable for the program enrolled and within program validity period.
f) For Research Methodology & Statistical Quantitative Methods (RM&SQM) Subject as under:
i. PGDBA: For RM & SQM, a student has to complete an assignment, of 30 marks; with min passing marks
of 15 and appear for Computer Based Exam of 70 marks; with minimum passing marks of 35 and submit
a Project Report which is of 100 marks; with minimum passing marks of 50. In case of failure, a student
has to submit or re-submit a Project Report, on payment of the prescribed fees.
ii. PGDBF: For RM & SQM, a student has to complete an assignment, of 30 marks; with min passing marks
of 15 and appear for Computer Based Exam of 70 marks; with minimum passing marks of 35. In Fourth
Semester, a student is required to submit a Project Report which is of 100 marks. Minimum passing
marks are 50. In case of failure, a student has to resubmit a Project Report on payment of the prescribed
fees.

iii. For PGDBA and PGDBF: Students have to submit the hard copy of a Project Report through post or
courier to SCDL, Pune.
g) For PGDIB: There is no project for the program. For RM & SQM, a student has to complete an assignment, of
30 marks; with min passing marks of 15 and appear for Computer Based Exam of 70 marks; with minimum
passing marks of 35.
h) Project (For PGDITM): In the Second Semester a student is required to submit a Case Study which is of 100
marks. Minimum passing marks are 50. In the Fourth Semester, a student is required to submit a Project
Report which is of 100 marks. Minimum passing marks are 50. In case of failure, a student has to resubmit a
Project Report on payment of prescribed fees. Students have to submit the soft copy of a project through
project submission link available in student centre login.
i) Exit Policy for PGDBA Program (Diploma in Management): Exit policy only for PGDBA program will be
available, from Academic Year June 2014 onwards. A student who has completed one full year of study
(Semester I and Semester II) and has successfully passed the exams and assignments corresponding to first
two semesters, but due to unavoidable circumstances is unable to complete the III and IV Semesters will be
eligible for a Diploma in Management. An eligible student will have to make a specific application to SCDL to
opt out of the PGDBA Program within the registration validity period of PGDBA. Students may submit an
application to the Director, SCDL, for approval, stating the reasons for discontinuing the second year. The
fees paid for PGDBA are non-refundable and non-transferable. In case the student wish to obtain the PGDBA
Diploma Certificate, he/she will have to take fresh admission in the next academic year. In such a case, credit
transfer for courses of Semester I or Semester II, may be availed as per Credit Transfer Policy as applicable.
There will be no separate enrolment for Diploma in Management.

Note: Students are required to submit the project along with the applicable project submission fees. Students are
requested to refer Annexure I – Administrative Charges for Other Service Requests for the applicable fees wrt project
submission/re-submission.

2.2. For One Year Post Graduate Diploma Programs (PGDHRM, PGDIM, PGDCRM, PGDSCM, PGDRM, PGDEXIM,
PGDBCL, PGDTW, PDGID):

a) The One Year Post Graduate programs consist of two semesters. Students are requested to study regularly
and appear for Assignments and for Computer based examinations every semester and complete the
respective program in the specified time period of one year. The registration validity of the enrolled program
is two years.
b) It is mandatory for all the students to appear for all the semesters. Students can book exam slot from the
third month of the commencement of the program for the subsequent semester.
c) On-Demand Computer Based Examination: For each course (except Project) there will be a computer based
examination of total 70 marks. Minimum passing marks are 35. Students are required to pay Examination
Fees separately for each attempt. Students may give backlog exams (for failed subjects / courses) anytime
during their registration validity period.
d) Assignments: For each course, there will be an assignment of 30 marks. Minimum passing marks are 15. In
case of failure, students can avail one free attempt and two paid attempts. The student is required to pay for
each paid attempt. (Refer Annexure I – Administrative Charges for Other Service Requests)
e) Students are required to pass in each of the on-demand computer based examination and also in assignments
and Project Report as applicable for the enrolled program.
f) Project:
i. For PGDHRM and PGDEXIM: In the Second Semester, a student is required to submit a Project Report
of 100 marks. The minimum passing marks are 50. In case of failure, a student has to resubmit a Project
Report along with the applicable re-submission fees. Students have to submit the project in the form of
hard copy through post or courier to SCDL.

ii. Project Report (For PGDID only): In the First Semester a student is required to submit a Submission which
is of 100 marks. Minimum passing marks are 50. In the Second Semester, a student is required to submit
a Project Report of 100 marks. The soft copy of Project Report should be sent to projectreport@scdl.net,
only. Minimum passing marks are 50. In case of failure, a student has to resubmit a Project Report on
payment.
iii. Project (For PGDTW only): In the Second Semester, a student is required to submit a Project of 100
marks comprising of Case Study and Report on Usage of Software Tools of 50 marks each. Minimum
passing marks are 50 comprising of both the Case study and Report on Usage of Software Tools. In case
of failure, a student has to resubmit a Project on payment. Students have to submit the Project in soft
copy through project submission link. The link shall be made available during 2nd Semester. Project
Report & case study guidelines will be made available in student centre login in the 2nd Semester.

g) The duration of the program is one year, while the registration is valid for two academic years.

Note: Students are required to submit the project along with the applicable project submission fees. Students are
requested to refer Annexure I – Administrative Charges for Other Service Requests for the applicable fees wrt project
submission/re-submission.

2.3 For One Year Post Graduate Diploma in Pre-Primary Teacher Training Program:

a) Computer Based Exam: For each course of this program the student need to give 70 marks computer based
exam. Minimum passing marks will be 35. Students are required to pay Examination Fees separately for each
attempt. Students may give backlog exams (for failed subjects / courses) anytime during their registration
validity period.
b) Hard Copy Submissions: For each course of this program, there will be one hard copy submission of 30 marks.
Minimum passing marks will be 15. In the case of failure in a particular submission the students need to
resubmit the submission related to that course only. The student should pay the resubmission fee in case of
failure. The facility for resubmission will be available only during the registration validity period of the
enrolled program.
c) Resource File I & II: In Semester I and Semester II, the students have to submit hard copy submissions related
to each course at the end of semester in the form of Resource File I and Resource File II respectively, at SCDL
Pune address. The guidelines for the preparation of the Resource File I and Resource File II will be uploaded
in student centre. The brief information can be referred in hard copy of practical manual which is sent along
with the student material. The Resource File I and Resource File II should comprise of following material:
i. Resource File I: 5 lesson plans conducted by students in a preschool & teaching practice sheet for each
lesson plan, teaching learning activities Group A, school observation report & one project report.
ii. Resource File II: 5 lesson plans conducted by students in a preschool & teaching practice sheet for each
lesson plan, teaching learning activity Group B & case study of one normal or disabled child.

d) The duration of the program is one year, while the registration is valid for two academic years.

Note: Students are requested to refer Annexure I – Administrative Charges for Other Service Requests for the applicable
fees wrt Resource File submission/re-submission.

2.4 For One Year Diploma Programs (DCWE and DELT):

a) Computer Based Exam: For each course there will be a computer based examination of total 70 marks.
Minimum passing marks are 35. Students are required to pay Examination Fees separately for each
attempt. Students may give backlog exams (for failed subjects / courses) anytime during their registration
validity period.

b) Assignment Submission: The evaluation is in the form of 'Submission'. Students are expected to send a
submission of assignments in printed format for courses 1, 2, 3 in Semester I and Semester II respectively.
Each submission will carry 30 marks. The minimum passing marks are 15 marks. For semester I and
semester II, the hardcopy of all three submissions together have to be sent along with submission fees to
SCDL, Pune by post / courier respectively. A student must pass in each and every course. All submissions
of first semester should be sent together as Submission – 1. All submissions of second semester should
be sent together as Submission – 2.
c) The submissions guidelines will be made available in the student centre login during 1st & 2nd Semester.
The brief information can be referred in hard copy of practical manual which is sent along with the study
material.
d) The duration of the program is one year, while the registration is valid for two academic years.

Note: Students are requested to refer Annexure I – Administrative Charges for Other Service Requests for the applicable
fees wrt submission/re-submission of the submissions of semester I and Semester II.

2.5 Evaluation Methodology for Six months Certificate Programs (CPED, CPMA, CPCL and CPDM):

a) Computer Based Examination: For each course there will be a Computer Based Examination of 70 marks.
Minimum passing marks are 35. Students are required to pay Examination Fees separately for each attempt.
Students may give backlog exams (for failed subjects / courses) anytime during their registration validity
period. Students are not allowed to re-attempt examination for marks / class improvement.
b) Assignment: For each course, there will be an assignment of 30 marks. Minimum passing marks are 15. In
case of failure, students may avail one free attempt and two paid attempts. The student is required to pay
for each paid attempt.
d) Research Project Report (For CPCL only): A student is required to submit a Research Project Report of 50
marks. The Hardcopy of Project Report should be sent to SCDL, Pune only. Minimum passing marks are 25.
In case of failure, a student may resubmit Research Project Report on payment.
c) The duration of the program is six months, while the registration is valid for one academic year.

2.6. For Six months Single Courses:

a) Computer Based Examination: For each course there will be a Computer Based Examination of 70 marks.
Minimum passing marks are 35. Students are required to pay Examination Fees separately for each attempt.
Students may give backlog exams (for failed subjects / courses) anytime during their registration validity
period. Students are not allowed to re-attempt examination for marks / class improvement.
b) Assignment: For each course, there will be an assignment of 30 marks. Minimum passing marks are 15. In
case of failure, students may avail one free attempt and two paid attempts. The student is required to pay
for each paid attempt.
c) A certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the on-demand Computer Based Examination and
Assignment.
d) The duration of the program is six months, while the registration is valid for one academic year.

3. GRACE MARKS

3.1 Grace Marks Policy:

The award of grace marks will be regulated as per the rules and procedures mentioned below:
a) The grace marks not exceeding 10 will be awarded to a student only if these grace marks enables him/her to
pass entire examination making him/her eligible for award of diploma.
b) Eligibility: A student who has failed in only three heads of passing in the semester end examination & having
deficiency of not more than 10 marks shall be eligible to avail grace marks. To avail grace marks in Case study

/ Project Report the student is eligible up to 5 grace marks. It may be noted that total grace marks that can be
availed by a student is 10 marks, inclusive of semester end examination / project report / case study.
c) Student fulfilling the conditions of Rule a) & b) mentioned above, should send a SRF addressed to SCDL, Pune
requesting to grant grace marks in the head of passing in which he/she has failed.

3.2 Procedure to apply for grace marks:

a) The student whose program validity period is over should apply to avail grace marks within a period of one
month after becoming eligible for award of grace marks. If he/she fails to do so, SCDL will suo-moto award the
necessary grace marks by following the above procedure and will declare the result of the student and will
process the diploma certificate.
b) The student whose program validity period is not over should inform in writing to SCDL whether he / she wish
to avail the grace marks or whether he / she wish to reappear for the subject in which he/she has failed, within
one month after becoming eligible for award of grace marks.
c) In case the student does not communicate in writing his / her choice within given time limit mentioned above,
SCDL will award grace marks up to 10 and will process his / her diploma certificate.

4. GUIDELINES FOR ASSIGNMENTS:

a) Each Assignment carries 30 marks. The minimum passing marks are 15.
b) Students should follow Applicable Methodology ONLY to submit their Assignments for all courses (subjects) of
their curriculum.
c) Students can see their assignment marks after completing and submitting the assignment. The marks are
updated in student login in the performance sheet within 48 hours from the date of completion of assignment.
d) Students are recommended to submit one assignment per month and ensure that all the assignments for a
semester are submitted prior to the semester end examination of that semester.
e) All assignments must be submitted and cleared within the program registration validity period.
f) Students cannot submit assignments for courses belonging to future / upcoming semesters. Students can
submit assignments only for their current or previous semesters.
g) The student can see the statistics of questions attempted and answered after completion of assignment.
h) In case of failure, students can avail one free attempt and two paid attempts. The student is required to pay
for each paid attempt.
i) Diploma entitlement is subject to successful completion of all Assignments, Exams, Project, and Practical as
applicable during the registration validity period of the program.

5. GUIDELINES FOR COMPUTER BASED ON-DEMAND EXAMS:

a) Computer Based Examinations attempted through approved exam centre s are called Computer based
examinations.
b) The exam will be of 70 marks and the duration of the exam will be 1 hour 20 minutes. The minimum passing
marks are 35 in each course (subject).
c) Student has to pass in the Computer based examination and assignments separately for each course (subject)
of the program.
d) Students should visit the SCDL website regularly for current updates and exam information.
e) Students who have paid complete program fee and have a confirmed admission status at the time of applying
for the computer based examination only will be allowed to appear for the examination.
f) Students can apply for the exams and book exam slot from the 3rd month of the commencement of the
program.
g) Applicable Exam Fee is Rs. 350/- for (General / Defence / Police / Paramilitary category), USD 25 (for
International category) and USD 20 (for SAARC category).

h) Exam fees are not included in the Program fees; it has to be sent with the exam enrolment form from time to
time.
i) Exam fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
j) If a student has paid the exam fees, but fails to book the exam slot or does not attempt the computer based
examination in-spite of exam slot booking, he/she will be required to re-pay the exam fees again to book a
fresh exam slot to appear for the un-cleared paper.
k) Student who have booked the exam slot but not appeared or have attempted the exam but failed, will not be
able to re-attempt until the official declaration of exam results.
l) Students are required to report at least 30 minutes prior to the actual Examination at the Approved exam
Centre. Students must carry their Exam Hall Ticket and their SCDL Identity Card and Govt. Authorized Photo
ID Proof like PAN Card / Driving License / Aadhar Card / Voter ID Card etc. Card to the exam centre for
verification. No other proof of identity will be accepted.
m) Students would be responsible for signing the attendance sheet available at the exam centre without which
their paper will not be assessed and the student would be marked absent for the exam.
n) Students are warned not to use any unfair means at the exam centre.
o) Students are not allowed to bring Digital Diary, Cell phone, pager, and palmtops to the examination hall. In
case a student is found using the cell phone, smart phone, palm tops the same shall be confiscated and the
student shall be debarred from the exam. All cell phones should be Switched Off during the examination.
p) SCDL or the exam centre is not responsible for the safekeeping / loss of personal belongings of the student.
q) Smoking is not allowed in the campus / examination area. High standards of discipline have to be maintained
during the examination sessions. Defaulters will be dealt with strictly.
r) Students violating any of the above procedures will be subjected to admission cancellation.
s) The examination is of objective and descriptive type and has to be attempted using computers provided in the
examination hall. Students are assumed to have basic knowledge of using a computer such as scrolling up and
down, some typing, clicking with mouse etc.
t) In an event of any force Majeure due to which the student is unable to attempt the exam in his/her slot or at
the exam hall, SCDL will make required arrangements for such student(s) to reattempt the exam at another
convenient date/time at no cost to the student(s). Force Majeure is described as natural disasters, sudden /
unexpected failure of electricity / computer hardware and software, local unrest, riots etc.
u) The student also has the option to submit the descriptive section of the exam, in paper pen mode.

6. INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR EXAM SLOT BOOKING:


For Students - Indian Residents (Civil / General / Defence / Police / Paramilitary

6.1. Indian Residents (General / Defence / Police / Paramilitary)

a) Students are required to send their duly filled exam enrolment form along with exam fees which can be paid
by Demand Draft /Online/ in Cash, at SCDL Cash Counter. The exam fee DD should be drawn in favor of “The
Director, SCDL, Pune”.
b) On receipt of the duly filled exam enrolment form to SCDL, the exam details for the students will be processed
and the booking will be released in 3 to 5 working days. Students can do their exam slot booking accordingly.
c) On the basis of exam form/s processing, students can do the exam slot booking up to 29th of current month
and / or within 29 days of the following month. (E.g. if exam form/s has been processed on 12th of any particular
month, student can do exam slot booking from 13th up to 29th of current month & again between 1st to 29th of
next month, however, please note that if exam form is processed on 28th of the current month then booking
will be available only on 29th up to 6.00 p.m. of current month and between 1st and 29th of the next month.)
d) The exam fees are non-refundable & non-transferable. Students who appear but fail in any exam for any
subject will be required to re-appear & pass in the exam for those subjects during their registration validity

period. For every re-appearance, students will be required to pay the exam fee of Rs. 350/- for each
exam/attempt.
e) Availability of exam slots is on “FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS”. Students are requested to take print out of
the hall ticket immediately after booking slots. In case, due to any reason if students are not able to take the
print out of the hall ticket for scheduled exams immediately, then students are required to take the print out
of hall ticket on or before 28th of same month i.e. in the same month when the booking has been done.
f) In case of any queries, students may send an email to examqueries@scdl.net. Please note any queries related
to exam, sent on other email addresses of SCDL, and shall not be replied.

6.2 Procedure for Exam Slot Booking For Students - Indian Residents (General / Defence / Police / Paramilitary)

a) Go to the SCDL website: www.scdl.net


b) In Student centre login enter your username and password through my book-Student login link.
c) Click on “Online Assessment” link on the left hand side of the page.
d) Student will see a list of courses (subjects) as per the enrolled program by the student.
e) Click on the link “View Details” against the applied subject for the exam.
f) You will be linked to the Booking system.
g) Follow the instructions clearly, while booking your slots.
h) Ensure that you print the Hall Ticket once your slots are booked. (Slots once booked cannot be changed /
modified.).
i) Students are requested to carry their Exam Hall Ticket and their SCDL Identity Card and Govt. Authorized
Photo ID Proof like PAN Card / Driving License / Aadhar Card / Voter ID Card etc.
j) Students are advised to visit our website www.scdl.net regularly for the related news/changes regarding
Computer based examination or exam centres.
k) Instructions for Payment of Exam Fees through payment gateway:
1. Student can book exam slots immediately for the current month & subsequent month.
2. Read computer based examination policies, all Instructions and Information carefully.
3. Put tick for accepting the declaration under Exam Form title and click proceed to Exam Form.
4. Select desired subjects which you wish to appear
5. If student wishes to make changes in already selected subject/s, click on Refresh Exam Form, click on
submit (Payment gateway screen reflects), follow the given instruction.
6. Click on Pay Online.
7. In Payment Option, select Card Type as “Visa”.
8. Click on Submit. On approval of payment by SCDL within 2 working days booking will be released. In case
of transaction declined, subjects get locked and get refreshed within the next 2 to 3 working days.
9. Slot Booking Page will allow you to book paid subjects (as selected in the exam form).
10.The student needs to click on the below mentioned instructions to proceed further to download the exam
form:-Yes, I have thoroughly read the instructions and accept to follow the process and policies as
mentioned.
11.Once the payment is successfully done, the following transaction receipt message will be displayed on the
screen:-

6.3 Exam Slot Booking Validity:

a) On the basis of exam form processed in system, the candidates can complete the slot booking till 29th of the
same month and also during 1st to 29th of the subsequent month. Thereafter, the validity of the slot booking
link expires.
b) Exam dates: Current month + subsequent month - Candidates will be able to book exam slots immediately;
selecting the exam dates with a time gap of 1 day.
c) Last Date for receipt of forms for current Month Booking: The last date for receipt of forms for current month
booking will be 24th of month.

7. ON-DEMAND COMPUTER BASED EXAMINATION GUIDELINES


(For International / SAARC Students):

Students enrolled as INTERNATIONAL students can appear for computer based exams either from APPROVED
EXAM CENTRES or from Reputed Universities/Colleges, Institutes, Embassies or Organizations.

7.1 Procedure for Appearing For Exams from Approved Centre (@ Dubai Only)

a) The student should communicate to SCDL the place/location where he would like to appear for the exam,
subject and semester, date, time etc. (in a prescribed format). Once the exam form is processed in the
system/database, the booking access shall be released for the student and students can book their slots
thereafter.
b) SCDL will communicate to APPROVED TEST CENTRE the details of the exam, mentioning the Date,
Time/Duration, Location, Subject etc. for each registration number. Student can download hall ticket from
student centre login
c) APPROVED TEST CENTRE will conduct the exams as per the schedule.
d) The Exam Result will be officially declared within 15 working days from the date of exam.

7.2 Procedure for Appearing For Exam in (Administered Mode of Exam)

Student registered under International / SAARC category can appear for the exams from outside INDIA have to
give the exam through a non-approved exam centre through administrative mode of examination. The exam can
be administered at any of the Reputed Universities/Colleges, Institutes, Embassies or Organizations. The exam
cannot be given from an Internet Café or Library.
a) An embassy official, lab instructor, professor, lecturer or immediate supervisor can act as an “exam
administrator.” The exam administrator must be a third party. The examiner cannot be a fellow student,
subordinate, co-worker, peer, friend or relative.
b) The student should communicate to SCDL the place/location where he would like to appear for the exam,
subject and semester etc.
c) The student will make the initial contact with the “exam administrator” and inform the name and designation
of the official acting as the exam administrator to SCDL. An Exam Administrator form is available in the student
centre which should be filled in and sent to SCDL. The student will also provide a letter proving the credentials
of the “exam administrator” on an official letterhead. The administrator must provide official email ID for
receiving the password to activate the exam.
d) The student is required to fill an exam enrolment form and exam fee through their student centre. The Exam
Administrator Undertaking and Exam Administrator Credentials Letter needs to be scanned and forwarded to
SCDL at Internationalstudents@scdl.net email id. Post verification and approval of the administrator
undertaking and Credentials, exam form will be processed by SCDL and booking link will be released to
students, using which students have to pay the exam fee for the applied subjects and simultaneously schedule
the exam slot.
e) However, if you choose not to send a scanned form, then upon receipt of the hard copies of the dully filled
exam form and Demand Draft of Exam Fee and other required documents. (Exam Administrator undertaking
and Exam Administrator credential letter) at SCDL Pune, Post verification and approval of the administrator
undertaking and Credentials, exam details for the students will be processed. The slot booking access shall be
released for the students and students can book their exam slots.
f) SCDL will verify the slot booking and confirm the exam schedule through an automated email to student and
exam administrator. Schedule includes the time, date, duration and subject of the exam.
g) SCDL will send a unique password to the exam administrator to activate the exam. (The email ID of student &
administrator should be official / organizational email ID & not personal email ID).
h) The change in administrator (for the exams scheduled and password already received) if so, shall be informed
to SCDL, 1 week in advance, of actual exam date/s.
i) For technical / system error faced during the exam, the screen shot of error occurred, must be sent to
internationalstudents@scdl.net, for necessary verification and email response time will be next 2 – 3 working
days. An email without proper screen shot of error faced during the exam attempt will not be entertained.
j) If the student tries to accesses / opens the exam paper, before the actual time of exam, the exam link gets by
default locked, and in such a case the student has to re-pay the exam fees to re-schedule the examination.
k) Non receipt of passwords (administrator and or candidate) to appear exam must be informed to
internationalstudents@scdl.net, 4 – 5 working days in advance. The email on passwords not received within
short notice of few hours / 1 day, of actual date of exam, shall be avoided.

7.3 Procedure for Appearing For Exam within India through Approved Test Centres

International / SAARC students can appear for the exam from India also (Students who wish to appear for the
exam from India are required to pay Rs. 350/- per subject through DD drawn in Indian rupees only towards the
exam fee). Please refer above mentioned point no. 6.2 Procedure for Exam Slot Booking for Students - Indian

Residents (General / Defence / Police / Paramilitary) on page #: 10, for the procedure to appear for exams from
India.

7.4 Procedure of Exam Form Filling Through Student Centre for All International/SAARC Students:

a) Student can book exam slots immediately for the current month & subsequent month.
b) Read computer based examination policies, all Instructions and Information carefully.
c) Put tick by accepting the declaration under Exam Form title and click “proceed” to Exam Form.
d) Select desired subjects, you wish to appear.
e) If student wishes to make changes in already selected subject/s, click on Refresh Exam Form click on submit
(Payment gateway screen reflects), follow the given instruction.
f) Click on Pay Online.
g) In Payment Option, select Card Type as “Visa”.
h) Click on Submit. On approval of payment by SCDL within 2 to 7 working days in case of transaction declined,
subjects get locked and get refreshed within next 2 to 3 working days.
i) Slot Booking Page will allow you to book paid subjects (as selected in exam form). Note: Once confirmed, the
selected subjects cannot be again selected/ deselected. This confirms the exam form to be sent to SCDL for
processing with your personal details (registration number, name, program or subject specialization if any,
telephone no, email ID), and total amount payable for selected subjects.

7.5 General Instructions for the International Students Appearing For Exams outside India through Approved
Test Centre or Through Administered Mode Only

a) After the administrator confirmation & online payment from exam form link, check for booking in 2-3 days.
b) Click on Online Assessment link from student login.
c) Read instructions carefully to accept and proceed.
d) Select the exams to be booked and click on view details.
e) Click on Book Now option to proceed.
f) Select exam date and enter proctor / administrator details.
g) Remember that the exam date and time are in IST and you need to calculate the time as per your time zone
difference before confirming the same.
h) The email id of the proctor must be an organizational email id. Passwords will not be forwarded on the personal
email id.
i) Check and confirm booking. Booking once done and confirmed can’t be changed.
j) Once the nominations get approved from SCDL (except exams at Dubai) an email is sent to candidate as well
as his administrator with their respective passwords for activation of Computer based examination.
k) In case of exam issues, please send an email to internationalstudents@scdl.net, including your candidate ID,
name and subject details.
l) Students are not permitted to bring Digital Diary, Cell Phone, Pager; Palmtops &Jewellery in the Computer
based examination. In case a student is found using any of the above mentioned gadgets, the same shall be
confiscated and the students shall be debarred from the course. All Cell Phones should be switched off during
the Computer based examination.
m) Students are warned NOT to use any unfair means in the Computer based examination. If any student is found
resorting to unfair means, he/she will be permanently debarred from the Computer based examination and
from the program.
n) You are advised to visit our website www.scdl.net regularly for any news/changes regarding anything
pertaining to the Computer based examination.
o) Please visit the web site for the Exam Instructions & the Administrator Form.

p) Please send by Post & Email at internationalstudents@scdl.net the Administrator Form and the order copy to
SCDL. Please study the instructions thoroughly before you initiate Administrator Form & Payment Activity.
q) Please allow us 3 - 5 working days to update your exam form on receipt of the hard copy at SCDL. We wish you
all the best for your exams.
r) All students are advised to carefully read all instructions and exam details thoroughly & for more details visit
the website .To appear for any subject, student will have to pay US $ 20 per subject towards the exam fees
through payment gateway, if the student wishes to appear for exam outside India. If the student wishes to
appear for exams in India, the exam fees of Rs.350/- per paper have to be paid in the form of demand draft
drawn in favor of “The Director, SCDL, Pune, payable at Pune. Students are required to mention their Full name
& Complete Registration Number on the back side of the Demand Draft.
s) SCDL is not liable to accommodate / entertain any queries of the students, if the student does not book the
slot within 3 business days of the data being uploaded by SCDL. Once slots are booked, it cannot be changed.
All International /SAARC students are advised to visit our website www.scdl.net frequently to view the
Computer based examination updates and changes if any. In case of any queries, please forward your mail to
internationalstudents@scdl.net.
Note: Queries related to exams, sent on any other email ID shall not be entertained.

Important Notes For all students of all programs:


Resubmission Policy: Only in the event of failure in the Project Report/Case Study/Submission student can
resubmit project Report/Case Study/Submission on payment only once for evaluation.
Re-evaluation Policy: Students can apply for re-evaluation towards Project Report/Case Study/Submission on
payment of applicable fees within 8 working days after the Project Report/Case Study /
Submission marks are reflected in performance sheet. Students are required to forward
re-evaluation request in duly filled Service request form towards re-evaluation of Project
Report/Case Study/Submission. The request received after above said timeline will not
take into consideration.

7.6 Policy for Re-Evaluation of Subjective Questions

The students can apply only for re-evaluation of the subjective section of the examination. The following procedure
needs to be followed:-
a) The request for revaluation should reach the institute 8 days from the official declaration of exam result.
b) The duly filled Service Request Form with DD of Rs. 500/- drawn in favor of “The Director, SCDL, Pune” should
be send to SCDL, Pune within the timeline specified in Point (1) above.
c) The revaluated result will be available in the performance sheet of the student within 10 working days of the
request received at the institute.
d) The students may please note that no request for the re-evaluation will be entertained after the expiry of 8
days of the official declaration of the result. All such re-evaluation requests will be rejected.

7.7 Policy for Re-totalling

1. The students can apply for re-totalling of term end examination within 8 days from the official
declaration of exam result.
2. Once the re-totalling is done, the marks are communicated to the student, within 8 days of receipt
of retotalling request.
3. The result of re-totalling is made available in the performance sheet.

7.8 Any queries pertaining to Evaluation of Project Report /case study /Submission:-

The students are requested to contact SCDL within 15 working days after the Project Report/Case Study/Submission
marks are reflected in performance sheet. The queries on project report/Case Study/Submission evaluation
received after above said timeline will not take into consideration.
Hard copy of Project Report/Case Study /Submission once submitted at SCDL will not be returned to student.
Students must retain one copy of the Project Report/ Case Study /Submission for their own reference.

7.9. CREDIT SYSTEM

Credit System is used to measure the workload of a student's learning effort. Each course carries credit points. One
credit point is equivalent to 30 hours of study. Study hours consist of time spent by the students in:
a) Reading & understanding the self-learning material & e-Learning
b) Integrated Learning
c) Preparation and submission of assignments
d) Preparation for examinations
e) Preparation of Projects / Case Studies, if any
The basic objective of transfer of courses and corresponding credits is to encourage students to continue learning
in an 'Open System' thus acknowledging prior learning at SCDL.

8. Credit Transfer System

a) The transfer of courses and corresponding credit point’s in the future academic years will be applicable only
from the Academic Year 2013 onwards.
b) The policy of transfer of courses and corresponding credit points applies to all programs of SCDL and allowed
only within the program validity period.
c) Transfer of courses and corresponding credit points from any one or two year Post Graduate Program of SCDL
to Single Courses will not be allowed.
d) A student can transfer maximum four courses and their corresponding credits if they wish to enroll in a one or
two year program offered by SCDL.
e) Transfer of courses and corresponding credits is not allowed for any courses studied by the student from other
institutes/ universities other than SCDL.
f) For transfer of courses and corresponding credits, a student must have completed and passed with a minimum
of 50 % in the said course/s.
g) Transfer of courses and corresponding credits are subject to Director's approval and students are required to
submit a written “Request for Credit Transfer Application” to the Director, SCDL.
h) There will be no concession in the program fees, for the program in which the student wishes to enroll, by
virtue of transfer of courses and corresponding credits.
i) The duration or registration validity of the program remains same.

9. AWARD OF DIPLOMA CERTIFICATE

The Diploma will be awarded only after a student passes in each of the computer based examination, each
assignment and Project Report / Case Study / Submissions / Resource File as applicable for the program enrolled,
subject to fulfilment of all other criteria laid down by SCDL as well as payment of all fees /dues. Diploma Certificate
is dispatched by speed post on the student's communication address within 15 working days, from the date of
completion of program.
Grading System (All programs): SCDL has a grading system which gives aggregate percentage as well as the
respective grade.
