Wodhu

1. Make Niyyah i.e Intention to clean and say BISMILLAH.

2. Wash hands 3 times until wrist.
3. Wash your mouth 3 times by swishing water into cheek and clean
fully.
4. Rinse the nose by pouring water in 3 times.
5. Wash hands until elbow; right hand followed by left hand 3 times.
6. Clean your head. Using your wet hands, gently wipe your forehead
from the eyebrow to the hairline. Also wipe down your hair, the back
of your neck, and your temples. Do this one time.
7. Wash feet until the ankles , right foot followed by left 3 times.
8. Stand upright facing Qiblah and say Shahadah.
“ Ashadu Allah ilaha Illalah wahadahu laa sharika-lahu wa Ashadu
anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluhu “
 Prayer
There are totally 5 prayers which are compulsory, called Fard.

1. Fajr – 2 Raka’hs (sunrise)

2. Zuhr – 4 Raka’hs (noon)
3. Asr – 4 Raka’hs (afternoon-evening)
4. Magrib – 3 Raka’hs (sunset)
5. Isha – 4 Raka’hs (night)
Sunnat is an optional prayer which was seen being prayed by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
1. Fajr – 2 before Fard
2. Zuhr – 2 or 4 before and 2 after Fard
3. Asr – 4 before Fard
4. Magrib – 2 before and 2 after Fard
5. Isha – 2 or 4 before and 2 after Fard

Nafil is also a voluntary prayer that can be prayed any time except after Fajr until sunrise and after Asr until sunset. It is
prayed in 2’s Raka’hs and can be prayed for any reason or dua

Allah is Greatest, Allah is

1x ‫ﷲ اﻛﺑر ﷲ اﻛﺑر‬ allāhu ʾakbar, allāhu ʾakbar
Greatest,

I assert that there is no God but

1x ‫اﺷﮭد ان ﻻ اﻟﮫ اﻻ ﷲ‬ ashhadu ʾan lā ilāha ʾillā-llāh
Allah,

ashhadu ʾanna muḥammadan I assert that Muhammad is the

1x ‫اﺷﮭد ان ﻣﺣﻣدًا رﺳول ﷲ‬
rasūlu-llāh Messenger of Allah,

1x ‫ﺣﻲ ﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﺻﻼة‬ ḥayya ʿala -ṣ-ṣalāh Come to prayer

1x ‫ﺣﻲ ﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﻔﻼح‬ ḥayya ʿala -l-falāḥ Come to success,

2x ‫ﻗد ﻗﺎﻣت اﻟﺻﻼة‬ qad qāmat aṣ-ṣalāh Prayer has started,

1x ‫ﷲ اﻛﺑر ﷲ اﻛﺑر‬ allāhu ʾakbar, allāhu ʾakbar Allah is Great, Allah is Great,

1x ‫ﻻ اﻟﮫ اﻻ ﷲ‬ lā ʾilāha ʾillā-llāh There is no God but Allah

3. Make Niyah or Intention to pray.
4. Takbir : Say “ Allahu Akbar” by raising both hands above the ears.
5. Fold hand right above left over the chest.

6. Recite the following dua –

Allahuma baid baini wa-baina khataayaai kama baatta bainal-mashriqi wal-maghrib, Allahumma
naqqini min khataayaai kama yunaqqas sthawbu al-abyadu minad-Danas, Allahumma
ighsilni khataayaiya bil-maai wassalji wal-Baradi
7. Recite Surah – Al Fathihah.
Start with “ Bismillah hir Rahman Nir Rahim
8. Recite any part of quran which is greater than or equal to 3 verses of Quran.
Surah Naas
Surah Ikhlas
7. Recite any part of quran which is greater than or equal to 3 verses of Quran.

Surah Asr
 9. Say “ Allahu Akbar” by raising hands and go for ‘Rokou’.
Bent upto your knee eyes looking down- place hands on knee.

Say “ Subhana rabbil – Azeem” (How Perfect is my Lord, the Supreme) 3 times

10. Stand up straight saying “ sami Allah liman hamida”

(Allah hears those who praise Him)
followed by “ Rabbana lakal hamd” (Our Lord, praise be to
You)
 11. Say “ Allahu Akbar” raising hands and go for prostration or Sajdah.
recite “ Subhana Rabbil Aala” 3 or odd times (How Perfect is my Lord, the Highest)

12. Rise to sit saying “ Allahu Akbar”

recite “ Rabbigh firli ” 3 times (“O my Lord! Forgive me.”)

13. Say “ Allahu Akbar” go for Sajdah again.

recite “ Subhana Rabbil Aala” 3 or odd times (How Perfect is my Lord, the Highest)
This is a complete Rakah.
14. Say “ Allahu Akbar” and rise up fold hands over chest and follow the same steps from
7 until second sajdah.

After the completion of second sajdah of second salah sit in the following position and
recite the following.

Change in posture from last sitting.

11. Tashahhud

‫ اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠﻴﻚ أﻳﻬﺎ اﻟﻨﺒﻲ ورﺣﻤﺔ‬،‫واﻟﺼﻠﻮات واﻟﻄﻴﺒﺎت‬ ‫اﻟﺘﺤﻴﺎت‬

‫ وأﺷﻬﺪ أن ﻣﺤﻤﺪا ﻋﺒﺪه و‬، ‫ أﺷﻬﺪ أن ﻻ إﻟﻪ إﻻ ا‬،‫ اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠﻴﻨﺎ و ﻋﻠﻰ ﻋﺒﺎد ا اﻟﺼﺎﻟﺤﻴﻦ‬،‫وﺑﺮﻛﺎﺗﻪ‬
‫رﺳﻮﻟﻪ‬.

"At-Tahiyyatu lillahi This means: “Greetings, prayers and

was- Salawatu wat-Tayyibatu. goodness belong to Allah.
As-Salamu ' alaika Peace be on you,
ayyuhannabiyyu O Prophet
wa rahmatullahi and the mercy of Allah
wa barakatuhu. and His blessings.
Assalamu 'alaina wa’ala Peace be on us and on
ibadil-Lahis -Salihin the righteous servants of Allah
ash hadu al-La ilaha I bear witness that
il-Lal lahu there is no god but Allah,
wa ash hadu anna and bear witness that
Muhammadan abduhu Muhammad is His servant
wa rasuluhu." and Messenger.”
After the thashahud it depends on number of Rakah prayed:

Only 2 : Recite the Salawat and dua and go for Salam.

If 3 : get up and pray the 3 rd Rakah (no need to recite any surah after fatihah)
and sit for thasahhhud and recite it again along with salawat and dua before
giving salam.

If 4 : pray next 2 rakah same as first two (no need to recite any surah after
fatihah) and sit for thasahhhud and recite it again along with salawat and dua
before giving salam.

"Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min adhabi jahanam wamin adhabil qabri
wamin sharri fitnatil mahya wal mamat wamin sharri fitnatil masihid dajjaal.
Rabbi-ghfir li waliwalidayya, rabbi-rhamhuma kama rabbayani saghira."

‫ و ﻣﻦ ﻓﺘﻨﺔ‬،‫ و ﻣﻦ ﻓﺘﻨﺔ اﻟﻤﺤﻴﺎ و اﻟﻤﻤﺎت‬،‫ و ﻣﻦ ﻋﺬاب اﻟﻘﺒﺮ‬،‫اﻟﻠﻬﻢ إﻧﻲ أﻋﻮذ ﺑﻚ ﻣﻦ ﻋﺬاب ﺟﻬﻨﻢ‬
‫ رب اﻏﻔﺮ ﻟﻲ و ﻟﻮاﻟﺪي رب ارﺣﻤﻬﻤﺎ ﻛﻤﺎ رﺑﻴﺎﻧﻲ ﺻﻐﻴﺮا‬،‫اﻟﻤﺴﻴﺢ اﻟﺪﺟﺎل‬.

This means: “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the torment of the Hellfire, from
the torment of the grave, from the trials and afflictions of life and death, and
from the deception of the False-Christ. O my Lord! Grant me and my parents
forgiveness, and bestow Your mercy upon them, just as they brought zme up
when I was small.”
15. Terminate prayer using Salam

Turn head right and say

“ Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakathahu”

And left and say

“Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatuulahi wa barakathahu”
These are two extra Sujoods that are made at the end of prayer when you have forgotten an essential act. Sujood
As-Sahu is done by making two extra Sujoods just before or after Salam. If you do it after, then make
the Sujoods and then make Salam again. These Sujoods are just like the ones done in any prayer. Performing
these Sujoods will make up for your mistake. You make these extra Sujoods if you have done one or more of the
following:
* If you forgot to do the first Tashahhud
* If you added an extra Rak'ah
* If you doubted how many Rak'ahs you prayed
* If you made Salam before completing your prayer, complete your prayer and then make Sujood As-Sahu in
the end, and then make Tasleem again.

After Salah : Recite the following and go to Sajdah and ask dua.

“Astagfirullah” – 3 times
“llah humma antas salamu wa minkas salamu tabarakta ya thaljalalee wal ikram.”
“Subhana-Allah” -33 times (Glory be to Allah)
“Alhamdulillah” - 33 times (Praise be to Allah)
“Allahu Akbar” - 33 times (Allah is the greatest)

“La ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa
‘ala kullee shay’in qadeer”
(There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, no associate does He have, His is the Kingdom, to Him is All-Praise, and He is
well able to do all things.)
