RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATION

ABSTRACT -

In the case of renewable energy generation and transmission,

maintaining the quality of the power generated and meeting the demand side
requirement is a difficult task. The scale of integration of renewable energy
sources into the existing electric power networks is not infinitive mainly due to
the fluctuation of power from these sources. In order to ensure power quality in a
particular AC voltage quality, in case impedance being significantly resistive and
level of power injection being notably high, energy storages can be applied. In
this paper, super capacitor energy storages are proposed to be applied as the peak
power unit to meet the requirement of the demand side. As a result, the impact of
power fluctuation from renewable energy sources can be mitigated.
