FIRO-B

®
The FIRO-B (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behavior™) instrument helps
individuals understand their behavior and the behavior of others. With the insights of an
individual’s interpersonal needs it can help improve workplace interactions. These self-
assessments provides critical insights into how an individual’s need for inclusion, control and
affection can shape his or her interactions with others. These Can be used in one-on-one
coaching, small groups or teams. The assessment can be integrated in team-building initiatives,
management training programs and communication workshops. Almost anytime - It is short,
quick to take and score, and
surprisingly insightful. It is
often used to compliment other
instruments.

This includes three main areas:

Based on my score, each section will fall into one of three categories:

 0-2 Low
 3-6 Medium
 7-9 High

My social interaction index total is 8, which means I am not all want to engage socially and join
any social groups. My wanted behavior score is 3 which is also low means I am not comfortable
with others initiating activities, and expressed behavior total is 5. I don’t make extra efforts to
include others in my activities and I don’t interfere or try to include myself in other’s
activities.. My score tells me that I am comfortable with organizing and taking responsibility for
others. My score is associated with the extent to which you try and engage with people on
a personal level. It shows that I am not very comfortable with engaging people on a personal
level and also I don’t want people to take special care of me and act warmly towards me.
