Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan motif SD Negeri Gadingan mengimplementasikan
pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan dan implementasi pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan di SD
Negeri Gadingan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subyek penelitian adalah
kepala sekolah, guru, karyawan sekolah, dan siswa IV-VI yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive.
Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data
dalam penelitian ini menggunakan komponen analisis data model interaktif Miles & Huberman yang
meliputi reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan
triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SD Negeri Gadingan
mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan atas dasar motif teogenetis, sosial, dan
aktualisasi diri. Strategi implementasi pendidikan karakter yang diterapkan di SD Negeri Gadingan adalah
program pengembangan diri dan budaya sekolah. Program pengembangan diri meliputi kegiatan rutin,
kegiatan spontan, keteladanan, dan pengkondisian. Sedangkan, budaya sekolah dapat dilihat dari visi,
misi, dan tata tertib sekolah; program sekolah; pemberian reward dan sanksi; pemberian motivasi;
semboyan khas; serta penyediaan ruang dan fasilitas.
Abstract
This research aims to describe the implementation motif and the implementation of character education of
environmental awareness in SD Negeri Gadingan. This research employed descriptive qualitative method. The
subjects of the research were the headmaster, teachers, school administrators, and also the students in the fourth,
fifth, and sixth grade which were determined by using the purposive technique. The data were collected through
observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis employed the Miles & Huberman interactive model
which covers data reduction, data display, and data conclusion. The validity test employed source and technique
triangulation. The results of this study show that SD Negeri Gadingan implemented the character education of
environmental awareness due to theogenetis, social, and self-actualization motif. The implementation strategies of
the environmental awareness character employed in SD Negeri Gadingan were self-development program and
school culture. The self-development program covered routine and spontaneous activities, modelling, and
conditioning. Meanwhile, the school culture can be seen from school vision, mission, and order; school programs;
rewards and punishments; motivation; distinctive taglines; and provided spaces and facilities.
