Butler Center, the Arkansas history and genealogy department of the Central Arkansas Library
System, seeks an organized, detail-oriented, creative person to help build an innovative digital
repository for online research. The specialist will provide annotation and indexing of streaming
audio and video excerpts, identify suitable terms to express the information in the excerpts,
organize excerpts into individual digital files, and accurately record metadata and descriptors for
each excerpt. The work will require careful analysis of the subject matter of the recordings and
the ability or willingness to learn to use a database to store repository information and metadata
while providing a high level of attention to detail along with a strong adaptability to new digital
technologies. Some time will be devoted to conducting research and handling reference
questions on Arkansas history for staff colleagues and members of the public. College degree
