Sew tail and body into a long tube,

matching stripes

HEAD:
With A cast on 44 sts. Work even for 6 rows in
stripe pattern as for body (2 rows A, 2 rows C,
2 rows B) then work 6 more rows in stripe
pattern and at the same time decrease 1 st
each end every row – 32 sts. Continue in B
only and continue to decrease one st at each
end every row 12 more rows – 24 rows, 8 sts.
Cut yarn and pull end through the 8 sts.

CO – cast on; dec – decrease; K – knit; rem With C cast on 10 sts and work in St st,
– remaining; sl – slip; st(s) – stitch(es); St st – decrease one st each end every 3rd row

BODY AND TAIL:

Beginning at neck with A cast on 34 sts and
work in St st for 2". Begin stripe pattern;
continue working even 2 rows C, 2 rows B,
2 rows A. Carry colors not in use loosely up
side of work. When work measures 30" from
beginning SHAPE TAIL: Decrease 8 sts evenly
spaced on each of next 2 rows. Continue in
stripe pattern on 18 sts until tail measures 10",
then work 1" with A only. Cut end and pull
through the 18 sts, draw tight and fasten off.
