MAIU’S POINT OF VIEW

(Moana)

I am Maui, you all know who I am from the story of Moana, but you don’t know

my real story. How I became a Demigod, how I help Moana,and the people in the

islands. According to Grandma Tala (Moana’s grand mother), in the beginning there

was only ocean until the mother island emerge. Te Fiti, her heart held the greatest

power ever known. It could create life itself, and Te Fiti shared it with the world.but in

time,some began to seek Te Fiti’s heart. They believed if they could possess it, the

great power of creation would be theirs. And one day, the most daring of them all

voyaged across the vast ocean to take it. He was a demigod of the wind and sea, he

was a warrior, a trickster, a shape-shifter who could change form with the power of

his magical fishhook, and his name is Maui. As grandma tala describe me, but no I

was not like that at all.

I wasn’t born a Demi God. I had human parents live in an island. While I was a

baby my parent decided that they didn’t want me as they took one look and threw me

into the ocean like I was nothing. Somehow I was rescued by the god as they took

pity of me. Made me a demi god, gave me the fish hook and made me MAUI.

So back to the humans I went, I have live with them. For I have became a Demi

God and have power, I gave people everything they need. Islands, fire, coconuts,

everything they can never get enough of. Even the heart of Te Fiti. Yes, I stole the

heart of Te Fiti for them in exchange for their love for me. But it was never enough.

They abandoned me and start hating me,making me feel like I was nothing for them.
So after that encounter with teka I was separated with my hook and became

powerless.

Then I met Moana, a girl with a quest to bring back the heart of Te Fiti,that is

when she started to nagged me on taking me with her for she said that I was the one

responsible for it in the first place. At first I don’t want to, but as moana persuade me

I finally agreed,first we traveled to find my hook in order to bring my power back,in

order to get it back we have to face TAMATOA the humungous crab of the sea of

monster, I find Moana crazy when she entered the sea of monster even if she is just

a human, she even help me taking the hook from the monster. That is when I started

to notice she has something in her and makes me more curious. We continued our

journey, we have a fight with the coconut people and then teka where my hook got

broken and I was angry with moana for that hook is the only thing I have and have

gotten, I was furious so I left moana not thinking clearly, then I have come to realize

that I care for her and our bond so I came back and help her defeat teka even if it

makes my hook totally broken and unusable, then she finally given back the heart of

Te Fiti to teka who is also the mother of all island, TEFITI.

After that Te Fiti forgive me for taking her heart away and have my hook fixed by

her. I was very thankful for what she did and l realize that this quest help me to learn

about how people can love me for who I am and not for what I can give them, I was

thankful to moana for she gives me a reason to be selfless and able to have friends

like her. My story doesn't end but just started.
