Specifications of Belt Conveyor

1.0 Belt conveyor: Flat belt conveyor, 650 mm wide, 12 m long, 10 tph nominal capacity, 12 tph design
capacity, 0.8m/s speed, 2.2 kW drive motor for handling wooden chips. The belt conveyor will
include the following:
i. The conveyor shall conform to IS 8597 (Current)
ii. Drive pulley- 315mm dia., 750mm face width, lagging of 10 mm thick, statically balanced,
conforming to IS 8531 (Current). The shaft shall be made of C40 steel. The bearings shall be
double row ball bearings.
iii. Drive motor- Squirrel cage induction motor, horizontal foot mounted, 2.2kW, TEFC, IP 55
Protection, Class F insulation temperature limited to Class B, 1450 synchronous speed,
suitable for 3 phases, 50 Hz supply conforming to IS 325.
iv. Speed reducer- Worm gear box, foot mounted, speed reduction ratio of 30:1, mechanical
transmitting capacity 1.5 times motor rating.
v. Low speed and high speed coupling: Flexible coupling, transmitting capacity at least 2 times
motor rating
vi. Tail pulley: 315 mm dia., 750 mm face width statically balanced, conforming to IS 8531
(current). The shaft shall be made of C40 steel. The bearings shall be double row ball
bearings.
vii. Screw take up : At non drive pulley of travel length app. 300 mm
viii. Drive frame, pulley support frames made of structural steel
ix. Carrying and return idlers: 76.1 dia., 3.65 mm thick, 750 mm face width conforming to IS
8598- (current). The idler tubes shall be made of ERW, HFS 25 grade conforming to IS 9295
(Current). The carrying idlers will be spaced at a spacing of 1 m and return idlers at spacing
of 3 m. The shaft shall be of C-45 material and supported on deep grove ball bearings/ cease
resistant ball bearings.
x. Conveyor frames: The stringer and short support shall be made of MC 75 channels. The
transoms and bracings shall be made of angles.
xi. Skirt board: Skirt board of 3 m long shall be provided.
xii. Belt cleaning arrangement: Suitable belt cleaners shall be provided at tail and discharge
pulleys.
xiii. Ploughs: Two numbers of ploughs will be required for discharging material at two different
places
