If you have already made a payment and still receive this letter, it could be that the amount you have
paid is not the full amount and that a difference is still owing. Please check the full amount due on the
table on page 2. If after checking the table, you are not certain you may call us on 0860 860 226 or
+27 31 268 4444 if from outside South Africa. As soon as we receive your full payment, your application
will be made available to the institution/s to which you have applied. If payment is received after 31
May 2019 (for July 2019 intake) or 31 October 2019 (for January 2020 intake), you will be liable to pay
the late application fee as indicated in the table on the next page. The late fee does not apply for TVET
programmes. Please check the full amount due.

The date on which we receive payment will be treated as the received date of your application.
Institutions have different closing dates for their programmes. If your payment is received after any of
the programme closing dates, your application for these programmes will be processed as late and may
be considered. However, there is no guarantee. Late Applications are dealt with differently at each
institution. Refer to institutions’ prospectus for more information.

While the no payment/outstanding payment applies to most programmes in terms of the above
paragraphs, it does not apply to a programme that has closed and for which the institution/s will not
consider late applications, eg. B Medicine & B Surgery, B Ed, etc (see details in the notes column of the
programme list in the latest CAO handbook).

Application fees are not refundable.

If you have already paid the full amount using the above mentioned CAO number, please ignore this
letter. If you have made payment onto a different CAO Number, please email paymentscao@cao.ac.za
to request a Transfer of Funds Form. See next page for ways of paying the CAO application fee.

Any request to add, change or re-order programme choices will incur a "Change of Mind" Fee of R 135.00

Citizens of other countries must pay the international fee if they do not have permanent residence in South Africa or refugee or
asylum seeker status recognised by the Department of Home Affairs.
