II CIRCULAR / CALL FOR PAPERS (​NEW DEADLINE​) 
 
 
The  ​V  Jornadas  Nacionales  de  ELT:  Innovations  and Challenges in the 21st Century ​will 
be  held  on  ​June  27th  and  28th,  2019  ​on  the  UNVM  Campus;  Av.  Jauretche  1555,  Villa 
María, Córdoba. 
 
Given  the  complex  challenges  that  EFL  teachers  have  to  face  in  their  classrooms  and 
the  demands  that  current  teaching  practices  place  on  teachers  to  work  towards 
optimal  learning  conditions,  this  new  edition  of  the  ​Jornadas  de ELT at UNVM ​is aimed 
at  discussing  new  scenarios  with  specialists  and  sharing  classroom  experiences  with 
colleagues. Thus, the event seeks to: 
 
- contribute to a better awareness of new challenges in ELT and their possible 
solutions 
- generate opportunities for open discussion and exchange of ideas and 
experiences among teachers of English as a foreign language 
- reinforce the link between research in ELT and teaching practices 
- contribute to the strengthening of the connection between the UNVM and other 
educational institutions where EFL is taught

📌TOPICS FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS 
 
1. ICTs in English learning and teaching 
2. Challenges related to the implementation/use of ICTs in the English language 
classroom 
3. Innovations in teaching practice and didactics of English as a foreign language 
4. Multiple Intelligences: Challenges/innovations in the English language classroom 
5. Adapting and designing didactic materials 
6. Innovations in the areas of grammar teaching and phonetics/phonology of the 
English language 
7. Innovations in ESP 
 
 
📌TYPES OF SUBMISSIONS 

 
Papers: ​20-minute oral presentation, last 5 minutes for discussion. 
Workshops: ​75 minutes, last 10 minutes for discussion. 
Presentations: ​Teachers at different levels of the school system and private 
institutes as well as trainees doing their teaching practice are invited to share their 
classroom experiences in 20-minute presentations moderated by a session chair, 
and which will revolve around the main topics of the conference. 
 
 
📌GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF THE ABSTRACTS (250 to 300 words): 
 
The proposals for papers, workshops and presentations must contain the following 
information: 
 
-Topic (as listed above) 
-Title 
-Author/s’ name/s and surname/s (no more than three authors per work, except for 
workshops in which up to six authors are accepted.) 
-Affiliation 
-E-mail address

they should accurately reflect the content of what presenters are going to talk about 
and how the presentation/workshop is going to be structured. 
 
Deadline for submission of the Registration Form (complete with Abstract for those 
who plan to participate as Presenters): ​March 31st, 2019​. 
 
 
📌 GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF COMPLETE PAPERS: 
 
The following guidelines should be followed:   
Paper length: between 2,000 and 5,000 words including references 
Paper size: A4 
Font: Times New Roman 12, double spacing  
Margins: All margins at 2,5 cm 
Title 
Author/s 
Affiliation 
Abstract 
Keywords 
In-text citation and references must be written following the APA Manual Style.  
 
Complete papers should be sent to ​lenguainglesaprofesorado@gmail.com​ by ​May 30th​, 
2019.
