3. Warmup song: “City Called Heaven” - after singing one time through of solo line,
look at text and have a class discussion on its meaning. Collect multiple opinions
from class.
4. Discuss why it is important to understand what we are singing
5. Discuss why it is important to sing expressively
6. “For Forever” Page 13 - measure 99.
7. Check notes and rhythms.
8. Part circles:
a. Have student leader
b. Read through text in part circles and as a small group come up with an
understanding of what the text means. Have them discuss in those smaller
part circles how that idea could relate to them. Have them sing over page
13 and 14.
c. In part circles, they need to work on dynamics from the page. Make sure
they look at every note, expressive marking.
9. Run through once as a class.
10. Discuss with students what they came up with for the meaning of the text and
how it relates to them personally.
11. Discuss text in relation to dynamics written and have them sing keeping note of
every dynamic on the page.
12. Make sure no held notes are just staying put!
