And
2. A unit result – ‘S’ or ‘N’
 In order to receive an ‘S’ ALL School Assessed Coursework will need to receive a grade of at least 50 %.
 If you DO NOT achieve a grade of at least 50 % on a SAC, then you will need to complete one of the
following to receive an ‘S’: repeat a similar task, resit the task, complete additional work in your workbook,
complete the set work in your workbook. THIS will be done in your own time.

Pre-requisite for Year 12 Specialist Mathematics

 Year 11 General Mathematics Advanced is a pre-requisite for Year 12 Specialist.
 A student who receives an ‘N’ and/or achieves less than 50 % for his/her EXAMS will not be guaranteed a
place in Year 12 Specialist.

Homework
All students are expected to complete set homework. This may consist of:
 Finishing work that has not been completed in class
 Revising for class tests
 Preparing reference material
 Completing additional set homework assignments.

You should spend AT LEAST 4 – 5 hours a week on this homework!!

Help
 If you need any help with your homework, please come and ask! My staffroom is room ____.
 There is also homework help in the VCE centre every __________ after school till 5.00pm

VCAA:.
Outcome 1: Applying mathematics to routine calculations and standard applications.
This outcome is graded according to a student’s ability to explain and demonstrate key concepts and skills.
The grade is based on topic tests throughout the semester, bookwork and skill building exercises. The
semester exam also contributes to the graded result.
Outcome 2: Applying key concepts and skills to non-routine situations.
This outcome is graded according to a student’s ability to use mathematics in problem solving and practical
application. The grade is based on problem solving activities, application project and assignments
undertaken during the semester.
Outcome 3: Technology (All students are required to have a graphical calculator)
Students are required to use technology to assist with the solution of mathematical problems and projects in
routine and non-routine applications.
