Straight Line
Definition

It is locus of a point such that slope is always constant.

Equation of Line in various Forms
Point-Slope form :

The equation of a straight line whose slope is m and which

passes through the point (x1,y1).
Two point form:

The equation of a straight line which passes through the point (x1,y1) &
(x2,y2)
Slope-Intercept form :

The equation of a straight line whose slope is m and which makes an

intercept c on the y-axis.
Example Find the equation of the line through the point A(1, -3) and making an
angle of 60º with the x-axis.
Example The vertices of PQR are P(2,1) Q(- 2,3) and R(1,6). Find the equation of
median through vertex P.
