Smoking and its impact in life and on nature

Nowadays, we will always meet people who smoke. As we know, smoking is not a good
habit. Smoking causes serious health consequences. Apart from the serious health disease, it can
also impact our everyday life.
Smoking causes serious disease or even more serious, it causes death. Smoking damages
our heart and our blood circulation which is not a good thing for us. Not only our heart, it
damages almost all part of our body like lungs, skin, brain, stomach, bones, throat, mouth,
reproduction problem for men and fertility problem for women.
Unnoticed by the active smokers, they also bring health problems for the passive smokers.
Passive smokers are the one who doesn’t smoke directly through the cigarettes but they inhale
cigarette smoke. Passive smokers will likely to have serious health problems like, lung cancer or
even stroke. It’s advised to the non-smokers to not often breaths the smoke frequently when
possible.
Smoking doesn’t only impact to our health. Cigarette pollution in the environment also
effects the lives of animals. Cigarettes are toxics which is not a good thing for the nature.
Discarded lit cigarettes also can causes fires which can damage home and lands. The impact that
we really feel right now because of the smoking is global warming which damages our earth in
which the temperature in the world is increasing.
In the 2017 data, it’s written that, about 217.400 population of people in Indonesia died
because of smoking. Smoking is also one of the main causes of death in Indonesia. Not only active
smokers, some of the passive smokers also died. It’s also stated that about 1 billion people
around the world light up cigarettes everyday which is nearly 20% of the world’s population.
To reduce the uses of cigarettes, it’s better for the government to stop allowing/prohibit
the entry of cigarettes sales in a country. If it’s not possible to not sell it in a country, some of the
ways to reduce number of purchases are to increase taxes or raise the price of cigarettes.
For the smokers itself, it’s hard to stop smoking. But there are still ways to stop people
from smoking. If he/she really cares about their body and doesn’t want to waste a lot of money
for the hospital fees, it can be a reason for them to stop. But if that reason can’t effect, they can
start throwing away their cigarette packs away and when they want to smoke, they can replace
it with eating lollipop or they can eat chewing gum. It’s also better to tell their family or friends
about their plan to quit so that they can help them by reminding them not to smoke. They can
also go for exercise or even start focusing on something to distract them from wanting to smoke.
The simplest way for heavy/ addicted smokers to stop is starting to reduce the amount of
cigarettes used in a day until they are totally free from the habit of smoking.
