The month of March 2017 was a very bad
month for Dalma KSA as far as hurt incidents in a positive manner .
are concerned, the most alarming point
being we could have prevented all of these
incidents , if someone had the courage
to SPEAK UP :
It’s my responsibility and obligation
to stop unsafe work
Intervention Recognize
-The line Supervisor should informally
recognize individuals when they exercise
their authority to “stop work” .
-Encourage others to intervene :
In conversations and meetings, we must
speak positively about intervention to
encourage others to do it too , as well so
that it becomes normal for good practice
to be commented on.
Remember, ‘IF IT IS NOT SAFE, DON’T DO IT!’

Stop Work Intervention
-Stop work intervention should be initiated
Target the act, not the person .
-Following interventions , we need to analyse
the deep causer . understanding the
root causes is tthe only way to leran .
-Discuss the issues at team meetings and
agree on the best ways to work safely.
Stop Work Authority
• YOU have stop work authority, and are
expected to use it whenever you see
something you believe to be unsafe.
• YOU are responsible for your own safety –
don’t do anything you believe to be unsafe.
• YOU have a responsibility for your co-worker’s
safety –don’t let them do anything unsafe.
• YOU are expected to report all safety
concerns to your supervisor.
