Performance Task

Imagine that you were one of the people in the Human Resource group of a fast-growing company in
the Philippines. All of you were asked by the management to create a salary scheme for a very
important job that the company would offer to best IT graduates this year. The manage gave the
salary range good for 2 years, telling everyone in your group that whoever could give a salary scheme
that would best benefit both employer and the would-be employees would be given incentives.

1. In your respective groups, make use of all the concepts you learned on geometric sequences
considering the starting salary, the rate of increase, the time frame, etc. in making different
salary schemes and in deciding which one will be the best for both the employer and the
would-be employees.
2. Prepare a visual presentation of your chosen salary scheme with the different data that
were used, together with the formulas and all the computations done. You may include two
salary schemes that you have prepared in your group for comparison.

Rubric for the Choses Salary Scheme

10 - The salary scheme is completely accurate and logically designed/presented

including facts, concepts and computation involving geometric sequence. The scheme is
advantageous to both employer and employees.
8 - The salary scheme is generally accurate and reflects understanding of
geometric sequence. Minor accuracies do not affect the overall results. The scheme is
advantageous to both employer and employees.
6 - The salary scheme is generally accurate but lack of application in geometric
sequence. The scheme is a little bot favorable to the employer.
4 - The salary scheme contains major inaccuracies and significant errors in
some parts. One cannot figure out which scheme is advantageous.
2 - There are no salary scheme made.

Rubric for Presentation

10 - Visual Presentation is exceptionally clear, thorough, fully supported with

concepts and principles of geometric sequences, and easy to follow.
8 - Presentation is generally clear and reflective of student’s personalized ideas,
and some accounts are supported by mathematical principles and concepts of
geometric sequences.
6 - Presentation is reflective of something learned; lacks clarity and accounts
have limited support.
4 - Presentation is unclear and impossible to follow, is superficial and more
descriptive than analytical.
2 - No learnings applied.
