Boarding House Rules and Regulations

1.0 STUDENTS CONDUCT

1.1 Students must maintain orderly conduct, obey all staff and cooperate with them.

1.2 Students must follow the school daily routine and manage their time accordingly.

1.3 Abusive language and slang are a breach of good manners and should never be used by any
student.

1.4 Fighting is an anti-social behaviour and is therefore totally prohibited.

1.5 Stealing, pilfering are acts that are strictly discouraged.

1.6 Rough play in which objects that are capable of inflicting injuries are thrown around is not
acceptable.

2.0 CLEANLINESS

2.1 The cleanliness of the boarding house is the responsibility of every member of the House.

2.2 Students must keep their corners in the dormitory neat and tidy always.

2.3 Students should lay their beds before leaving the dormitory for the school in the morning.

2.4 Proper use of toilet facilities is the responsibility of every student.

4.0 COOKING AND EATING

4.1 All meals can only be eaten in the dining room

4.2 Breakfast will be served in the dining room at 6 -7 am during the weekdays and 8-9 am
during the weekends.

4.3 Dinner will be served in the dining room at 6 -8 pm everyday.

4.4 Lunch will be provided in the school canteen on weekdays. Each boarder will be subsidized
by an amount of IDR 15000. Any amount beyond the subsidy must be paid by the boarders
themselves.

4.5 Lunch will be provided at the dining room during the weekends at 12 -1 pm.

5.0 ALTERATION OF STRUCTURES / SCHOOL PROPERTY

5.1 No student should make any additional connection or tamper with the electrical installation
in the dormitories.

5.2 Writing or drawing on walls, beds, and wardrobes in the boarding house is an offence.

5.3 Damage or loss of school property must be reported promptly. Students caught damaging any
boarding house’s property will be made to pay for its replacement, in addition to other suitable
sanctions.

6.0 BOUNDS

6.1 No student should enter or be seen loitering around the hostels of the opposite sex.

6.2 No student should leave the boarding house without an official written exeat from the
Principal or General Manager. As long as Boarders are on the premises of the Boarding House,
they are under the supervision of the Housemaster on duty. If a Boarder is found to be away from
these boundaries without permission at any time, he will be in danger of expulsion from the
Boarding House.

6.3 No Boarder may have a personal means of transport, e.g. cars, motorcycles, and bicycles etc.
on the premises without the written permission of the Principal
6.4 Boarders are not allowed to switch Boarding Houses. A written request must be directed at
the Principal, who may make exceptions.

7.0 SERIOUS OFFENCE

7.1 Bullying is a serious offence in the boarding house. Every student, junior or senior has a right
to enjoy his stay in it

7.2 Fagging is punishable by suspension or expulsion from the school. No student is to be a slave
to any other student. However, junior students must show respect to senior students.
7.3 Fighting is absolutely prohibited.

7.4 Undesirable literature or DVD, smoking, alcohol, narcotics and dangerous weapons are
strictly forbidden.

8.0 VISITS/RESUMPTION

8.1 The boarding house is security conscious and visitors are not allowed into the premises
without proper clearance. Students may not receive visitors (drivers, relations and friends) unless
by previous arrangement agreed to by the principal.

9. PUNISHMENT, SUSPENSION AND EXCLUSION

A general atmosphere of order, system and work should prevail in a Boarding School. If a
Boarder neglects to obey the rules of the Boarding House regarding good order and behaviour,
appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

9.1 BUNKING
Bunking from the Boarding House at any time is regarded as a very serious breach of
discipline and will be dealt with accordingly.

If bunking occurs at night, as soon as possible after the discovery thereof, the Housemaster
on duty will inform the Principal. Thereafter, the parents of the bunking Boarder(s) will be
phoned (whatever the hour) informing them of the incident. As soon as possible after their
return to the Boarding House, the parents will be phoned (whatever the hour) to inform
them of the Boarder(s) return.

Bunkers will be required to appear before the Disciplinary Committee. The circumstances
of the bunking and the Boarder’s records will be taken into account, but all parties have
agreed that, with the permission of the Principal, bunking may be punishable by immediate
suspension or exclusion from the Boarding House.

9.2 ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES

If a Boarder tests positive for any illegal or banned substance, he will immediately be
suspended until such time that a clearance certificate from a nominated doctor or hospital
is handed to the Principal. The cost of the above is for the parents’ account.

If a Boarder tests positive for a second time, he will be expelled from the Boarding House
and may not return to any of the Boarding Houses for the duration of his school career.
 9.3 THEFT
If a Boarder is found guilty of any theft, he will be suspended for one term.

If a Boarder is found guilty of theft for a second time, he will be expelled immediately
from the Boarding House and may not return to any of the Boarding Houses for the
duration of his school career.

9.4 DISCIPLINARY HEARING

In the event of transgressions mentioned in 9.2 and 9.3, a Disciplinary Hearing will take
place and the Boarder will serve any punishment instituted at such hearing.

9.5 APPEALS
Aggrieved Boarders or their parents may appeal in writing to the Headmaster for their case
to be reconsidered. The Headmaster will consult with the Housemaster before responding.
