1. Viniyogaḥ (ङ्गिङ्गियोगः) :-
asya śrī pratyaṅgirā mahā mantrasya । mahā bhairava ṛṣiḥ। anuṣṭup chandaḥ । śrī pratyaṅgirā
devatā । aim̐ bījaṃ । śrīm̐ śakti: । svāhā kīlakaṃ । sarva kāmya siddhyarthaṃ । mama śarīra
अस्य श्री प्रत्यङ्गिरा महा मन्त्रस्य । महा भैरव ऋङ्ग िः। अनुष्टु प् छन्दिः । श्री प्रत्यङ्गिरा दे वता । ऐ ँ बीजं । श्री ँ
शक्ति: । स्वाहा कीलकं । सवव काम्य ङ्गसद्ध्यर्थं । मम शरीर रक्षणार्थं । मम सवव शत्रुनाशनार्थं जपे ङ्गवङ्गनयोगिः ॥
Meaning:- This prayer/mantra japa is to invoke Śrī Pratyaṅgirā and perform Her mantra japa to
obtain Her complete grace in all aspects, and especially for removal of all enmity and negativity
afflicting us. The sage (ṛṣiḥ) is Mahā Bhairava, the meter (chandas) for the mantra is Anuṣṭup
and the deity is Śrī Pratyaṅgirā, the seed (bījaṃ) is aīm̐, the power or śakti is śrīm̐. The secret to

9 ह्ी ँ नमिः कण्ठाङ्गद नाभ्यान्तं
nābhyāntaṃ throat to the navel.
śrīm̐ namaḥ mūrdhādi Run the fingers of both hands from the
10 श्री ँ नमिः मूधाव ङ्गद कण्ठान्तं
kaṇṭhāntaṃ face to the throat.
Run the right fingers on the left hand
11 aim̐ namaḥ vāma pāṇītale ऐ ँ नमिः वाम पाणीतले palm.
Run the left fingers on the right hand
12 hrīm̐ namaḥ dakṣapāṇi tale ह्ी ँ नमिः दक्षपाङ्गण तले palm.

Open index, middle and ring fingers
1 om̐ aim̐ hṛdayāya namaḥ ॐ ऐ ँ हृदयाय नमिः of the right hand and place them on
the heart chakra.
Open middle and ring fingers of the
2 om̐ hrīm̐ śirase svāhā ॐ ह्ी ँ ङ्गशरसे स्वाहा right hand and touch the top of the
forehead.
Open the right thumb and touch the
3 om̐ śrīm̐ śikhāyai vaṣaṭ ॐ श्री ँ ङ्गशखायै व ट् back of the head. This is the point
where the tuft of hair, is kept.
Cross both the hands and run the
4 pratyaṅgire kavacāya hum̐ प्रत्यङ्गिरे कवचाय हँ fully opened palms from shoulders
to finger tips.
मम रक्ष रक्ष मम शत्रून् भक्ष
Touch the eyes with the right index
mama rakṣa rakṣa mama śatrūn भक्ष
5 and ring fingers, with the middle
bhakṣa bhakṣa netratrayāya vauṣaṭ
finger touching the ājña cakra.
नेत्रत्रयाय वौ ट्
Open up the left palm and strike it
6 om̐ svāhā astrāya phaṭ ॐ स्वाहा अस्त्राय फट् three times with index and middle
fingers of the right hand.
7 iti ṣaḍaṅga nyāsaḥ इङ्गत डि न्यासिः
bhūr-bhuva-ssuvarom-iti digbandhaḥ ॥
भूभुववस्सुवरोङ्गमङ्गत ङ्गदग्बन्धिः॥
5. dhyānaṃ (ध्यािं) :-

दं ष्ट्रोग्र वक्त्रा ग्रङ्गसताङ्गहतात्वया
Meaning:- I meditate upon on the Divine Mother Śrī Pratyaṅgirā, dark as the night sky with Her
hair loosened and wavy. She is clothed by the vast deep space and is enormous. She holds a
sword and a shield in Her hands and is decorated with ornaments around Her arms. She has
enormous diamond like teeth and a very wide gaping mouth. She takes in all the negative and
inimical forces and frees us from all karmas impacting our progress. Glory be to the Divine

Meaning:- The bīja (seed mantra) om̐ represents auspiciousness and is the śabda brahman or the
Superconsciousness manifested as sound. The vāgbhāva bīja (seed mantra) aim̐, represents all
knowledge, spiritual and material. The māyā bīja (seed mantra) hrīm̐ represents manifestation of
everything as the power of Creation, sustenance as the power of Preservation and transformation
as the power of Destruction. It is also related to concentration, focus, energy, drive, self-esteem,
high power and is the main śakti mantra. The Lakṣmī bīja (seed mantra) śrīm̐, represents

vam̐ - amṛtātmikāyai amṛtaṁ वँ - अमृताक्तिकायै अमृतं Hold the lower tip of the bottom phalange

mahānaivedyaṁ nivedayāmi | महानैवेद्यं ङ्गनवेदयाङ्गम। of the ring fingers of both hands with the
upper tip of the thumbs, with the back of
the hand facing us.
sam̐ - sarvātmikāyai Hold the fingers of each palm in a folded
सँ - सवाव क्तिकायै सवोपचार
sarvopacāra pūjām manner with the tips of each fingers of

thumbs facing the heart, in a Namaste

13. Samarpaṇam (समपपणम् ):- Take water in uttaraṇi[CM1] and by reciting the following śloka,
Recite the below śloka and mantra, followed by placing the māla upon the top of the head and
then place it back in the māla bag and conceal it. It should NOT be worn.
