good comes out of bullying it could ruin one’s life. Bullying does not have to be a
childish play, it can be extremely violent. People may be bruised, injured, or even killed.
Kids under bad influence may turn very violent. Parents, relatives, friends, T.V., music
and pictures may all influence people, especially when they are depressed or are in a
lowered state of mind. Violence on T.V. is a very big influence, particularly the wrestling
and fighting shows. Children need to be informed about the impact it can have on the
lives of everyone involved. Some parents have lost their children to suicide due to
"bullying" or "Cyber Bullying", while siblings suffer the loss of losing a brother or
sister. Bullying is an issue that has occurred for years in schools at each grade level.
Though it is a well-known issue in schools, there has been little to no change in the
prevalence of bullying.
Bullying is a form of abuse that uses power to those that are weaker and less
powerful. Bullying has been taking place in various areas but it is mostly common in
schools and workplaces. It exists in various social groups, social classes and is found
all over the world. The behavior is usually aggressive and it is based on the intention of
hurting the victim. Bullies carry out the behavior to harm the other person as a way of
gaining power over the other person. It is normally a behavior that is planned and
purposeful. Bullying in schools has become very common and it has led to some very
serious consequences. It has led to physical violence in forms of fight and in some
extreme cases deaths by suicides.
As students, we can take action to stop bullying. Most schools have a bullying-
victim problem. Schools have to make a public commitment against bullying. Children
need to know that the bully will be punished. Schools can teach anti-bullying behavior
through role playing. Schools should encourage children to be aware of the places and
ways to help. They need adults to teach them to speak up against injustice and that it is
not tattling but doing what is right. Children need to know that they are not the only one
who thinks bullying is dangerous and wrong. Sometimes it just takes one to bring
attention to a problem and then many others agree and voice their opinions too.
