SCHOOL POLICY GUIDELINES ON AWARDS AND RECOGNITION


Based on the DepEd order No. 36, s.2016, the school designed these policies:

1. The school formed the Awards Committee.


2. Formulation of Rubrics by Discipline, verified by the Awards Committee and approved by the School Head.

A. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
This award is given to Grades 7-12 learners who attained an average of at least 90, passed all the
learning areas within the quarter and with passing Final Grades in all learning areas.The Average Grade per
quarter is reported as whole number following the DepEd Order No. 8 s. 2015

B. CONDUCT AWARD
This award is given Grades 7-12 in each class and will be given at the end of the school year. This is
based on the evaluation of the adviser and subject teachers, using the guidelines stipulated in Section VI of
DepEd Order No.8, s.2015. Awardees must have consistently and dutifully carried out the core values of the
Department as indicated in the report card. They must have obtained a rating of at least 75% "Always
Observed" (AO) at the end of the school year (with at least 21 out of 28 AO rating in the report card). They
also must have not been sanctioned with offenses punishable by suspension or higher sanction within the
school year according to the Department's service manual and child protection policies.

C. LEARDERSHIP AWARD
This is given to learners in Grade 10 who have demonstrated exemplary skills in motivating others and
organizing projects that have significantly contributed to the betterment of the school and/ or community. This
award is given during the completion or graduation ceremony.

To qualify for this award, a learner must:


1. Have no failing grades in any of the learning areas.
2. Have not committed any offense punishable by suspension or higher sanction according to the
Department's service manual and child protection policies in the currents school year.
3. Be a class officer or an active member/ officer of any recognized school club, team, or
organization.

D. OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE IN SPECIFIC DISCIPLINE


These awards are given to recognize learners in Grade 10 who have exhibited exemplary skills and
achievements in specific disciplines. These disciplines are Athletics, Arts, Communication Arts, Mathematics
and Science, Social Sciences and Technical-Vocational Education. These awards also value the learners'
achievement in specific discipline that has contributed to the school and/or community. (The attached rubrics
for each discipline specifies the criteria and weights for these awards).
3. Meet the students and explain the Rubrics/ Policy Guidelines on Awards and Recognition which was aligned
with the DepEd Order No. 36, s.2016.
4. Organized Parents' Meeting to discuss and informed them on the policy guidelines on Awards and
Recognition.
5. Accepting portfolios from the candidates with documents and without any sanctions or violations offended.
It was opened to all Grade 10 students regardless of their Final Average. The portfolios will be consolidated by
the learner's adviser.
6. Checking of portfolios of each discipline to be evaluated and validated by the Awards Committee.
7. All the results will be evaluated by the Awards Committee to be approved by the School Head.
8. Announcement of the result thru Open Deliberation. This will be attended by the Grade 10 learners, Awards
Committee, Committees of various disciplines and parents.
9. Final result will be posted.
10. In cases of Protest shall be filed by the candidate with his/her parent or guardian to the School Head within
three (3) working days from the announcement and shall be decided on by the school head or principal,
considering the recommendation of the AC within three (3) woking days from filing.
11. In the Moving-up Ceremony, the learner with the Highest General Average before rounding off should
deliver the "Bating Pamamaalam" and the learner who is second in rank should deliver the "Panunumpa".
12. Each awardee will be called from with Highest Honors (in Alphabetical Order) followed by with High
Honors (in Alphabetical Order) and with Honors (in Alphabetical Order).
