The SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression) Equality Bill. also

known as the Anti-Discrimination Bill. Seeks to protect individuals against sex and gender based

discrimination. Which include denial of access to public service, health, service, employment,

and education.

Each one of us has the right to express ourselves. Each one of us has the freedom to do

what we want. But as we all know, we are living in Christian country. In my own opinion, I am

not agree with SOGIE bill, because even if the senate will approve this idea if you know to

yourself that you don’t know how to respect your fellow Filipino, it’s useless for we can never

have or gain respect from the law, bill nor rules of regulations but rather respect comes from

within and not from anyone else.

Therefore, I conclude with all due respect both LGBT community and the Christianity of

this country, I would disagree to the SOGIE Bill as a law for it would make Anti-Discrimination

law useless.

The most controversial issue that the government ate facing nowadays is that the Sogie

Bill in which there is this transgender women named Gretchen Diez who did not get a chance to

pee. I really don't understand the stand of Gretchen Diez because all she need is a particular

comfort room for people like them. For me what Gretchen Diez is demanding is too much He

wants to become superior. He wants anything where in fact it is not necessary. He take advantage

of the attention that he gain by the issue.

I do not agree in the Sogie Bill because we Filipinos claimed that we are Christians. We

are claiming in the whole universe that we are Christians but we are not abiding the law inside

the church. I cannot find the reason or importance of imposing Sogie Bill because we already

have a Anti Descrimination Law.

Sogie Bill somehow degrades the church because in the beginning it only has two gender.

I am not in favor about the Bill but when the Bill has been successfully impose in our vountry I

will still respect it and always abide in this law but I will still show the qualities of a Christian.

The sexual orientation and gender identity and expression equality Bill (SOGIE) also

known as the Anti-Discrimination bill (ADB) is a proposed legislation of the congress of the

Philippines. Discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation, gender identity or

expression.

We people have our own freedom but it has a limitations but there are really people who

will discriminate you for what they saw. I don’t agree with the SOGIE bill, because if you want

to be a true Filipino you must follow the rules and regulation. We Filipino have freedom, we are

not judging people on what gender they want. It would be unfair on some instance because there

are a lot of problems in the society but still you are just focusing on that SOGIE bill.

Respect will always start in yourself,if you are not respecting yourself people won’t

either. We are Christian,if you claim to be one you should know what a true Christian is.

Christianity consist of two people involve,a girl and a boy. In conclusion, I would beg to

disagree for making the SOGIE bill a law.

Despite the renewed calls of the LGBTQ community for Congress to pass the Sexual

Orientation and Gender Identity or Expression (SOGIE) bill due to the experience of trans

woman Gretchen Diez, not all of those who identify to be among its members have the same

sentiment. Ryan Borja Capitulo, an obstetrician and gynecologist, shared his views on the bill

that seeks to criminalize discrimination against persons identifying as members of the LGBTQ

community. He cited three main concerns in a fairly popular post on Facebook. Citing two

versions of the bill in the legislature—House Bill 4982 or the “SOGIE Equality Act” and Senate

Bill 935 or the “Anti-Discrimination Act“—Capitulo argued that the bills are not necessary since

there are already existing laws that “safeguard the rights of citizens against discrimination.

”There are victims of discrimination because of their height, but do we need an Anti-Short

Stature Discrimination Act? There are victims of discrimination because they are fat, but do we

need an Anti-Obese Discrimination Act?” he pointed out.

In addition, in connect to what is stated above, I would too disagree with this bill since it

provoke the Christianity that our country-Philippines claiming. Also, there’s already this bill of

rights to express our freedom and thoughts as a human being in this society. Moreover, there still

many controversies that our country is having that must be entertained than this. We all want

respect but, the respect we want to have is the respect that comes from within.

Therefore, with all due the respect of the LGBTQ community that even I, myself is

having lot of friends that is part of them, we should not be degrading other problems that our

country is facing.
