Activities to develop.

Part 1: After checking the Unit 1 Topic 2: Modal Verbs, write 1 sentence using each one of the

modal verbs regarding your duties and rights at home: can – could – may - must - should -

ought to – have to – need to- had better - would.

 May I have a soda

 I can wash the dishes every day at night

 I can see novels after doing the work of the university

 I can wash the bathroom

 I could go for a walk tomorrow, but I do not have money

 Had better to turn on the bulb when in fact it is required

 I should buy a cell phone

 I should brush my teeth after every meal

 I must take out the garbage on Monday and Thursday in the morning

 I would mop the floor in the mornings and in the afternoon

 I must take the dog out every day

Part 2: According to the topic Past Progressive (Unit 1: Topic 3), each student must write 5

things you were doing a few hours ago and 5 things you were not:

 I was watching the Brazil Vs Peru soccer match.

I was not washing my sister's clothes.

 I was eating hamburger in the park.

I was not studying for the English partial.

 I was drinking soda with my mother.

I was not mopping the house.

 I was enjoying the goals that Dani Alvez did.

I was not taking copies of a book.

 I was eating popcorn while watching the game.

I was not combing Juan's daughter.

Part 3: Write a text about how you imagine your city in fifty years. Use at least two pictures

related to your text. You should write four paragraphs:

Vision of transport, services and economy of the municipality of Villa Rica Cauca in 50 years.

Villa Rica will have progress since it could become a quiet city, with working people who enjoy

good health. Therefore, people will avoid cutting trees without reforestation, classify the waste, will

not contaminate the water sources, for this reason, projects should be implemented. Of

modernization that can contribute to the care of the environment.

I imagine that the public transport system will have intelligent technology, will have comfort,

safety and efficiency because it could reduce traffic accidents, pollution to the environment will

also have a form of payment with cards.

As for health, I think that hospitals will have advances in science to save lives, people will be

treated in the best way with advanced technology which will detect diseases in time thus avoiding

many deaths.

Finally, I think that the economy of the city will have improve since many people will be trained

and will be managers of their own company which will contribute to individual and collective

progress.
