 Coordinate and monitor the SQE functions throughout the Company.


 Provide the link between the Master and the Top Management of the Company.
 Monitor implementation of the Company Policy.
 Monitor the safety, quality and environmental (pollution-prevention) aspects of the operation of each ship and
ensuring that adequate resources and shore-based support are provided.
 Control document issuance and distribution.
 Supervise and coordinate internal audit process / Conduct internal audits.
 Ensure that the requirements of the environmental management system are established, implemented and
maintained in accordance with ISO 14001.
 Report on the performance of the environmental management system to top management for review and as
basis for improvement of the environmental management system.
 Monitor and maintain department’s safety, quality and environmental protection records.
 Planning and coordinating the periodical analysis of the activities- aspects-impacts related to the
Environmental Management System
 Monitor non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions.
 Monitor and investigate (as necessary) casualties and near misses.
 Identify training needs and plan training accordingly.
 Familiarize masters / chief engineers in the office prior to taking on commission
 Debrief masters/chief engineers upon completion of tour of duty
 Plan and coordinate management reviews.
 Monitor follow-up through –out the Company.
 Coordinating problem solving/improvements.
 Revise the system as necessary and coordinate its implementation.

 Monitor and verify MGA.
 Monitor crew health issues while on board; follow-up on discharges due to illness
 Identify training needs/plan training, necessary for the promotion of officers under contract.
 Identify additional (to benefit the Company) training needs/plan training, for officers under contract.
 Familiarize chief engineers in the office prior to taking on commission
 Debrief masters/chief engineers upon completion of tour of duty
 Participating in the process of analysis of the Company activities-aspects-impacts
 Perform specific activities (i.e. contractor control, investigations, operational controls) related to the
