YEAR LEVEL : GRADE 8- DARWIN ( 10:00-11:00)
MENDEL( 1:30-2:30)
I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of: current-
voltage resistance relationship, electric power, electric
energy, and home circuitry
B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to: discuss phenomena such
as blue sky, rainbow, and red sunset using the concept of
wavelength and frequency of visible light
C. Learning competencies 1.Infer the relationship between current and charge;
(S8FE-Ih-30)
2.Explain the advantages and disadvantages of series and
parallel connections in homes; (S8FE-Ii-31)

IV.PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the
new lesson

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

Let the students answer these pre-assessment.

1. An electric meter that must be connected in
series as it measure the current flowing through a load.
2. 2. It states that the current flowing through a
wire is proportional to the potential difference (voltage)
across it provided the résistance remains constant.
3. It is a measure of how fast an electric appliance
converts electrical energy to other forms.
4. TRUE or FALSE. Kilowatthour is a unit of Electrical
Power.
What are the four factors that affects resistance?
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new
lesson
D. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New
Skill #1

E. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Discussion on CURRENT, VOLTAGE and RESISTANCE
skill #2
F. Developing Mastery ( Leads to formative
assessment 3)

G. Finding Practical applications of concepts and

skills in daily living

H. Making generalizations and abstractions

about the lesson
I. Evaluating Learning Write TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if the
statement is wrong.
1.Electrons are the mobile charge carriers in an electric
circuit.
2. The + terminal of a battery is a location with a higher
electric potential than the - terminal of a battery.
3. Electric current is measured in units of Amperes.
4. Wider conducting wires are capable of carrying larger
currents.
5. The resistance of an electric circuit is a measure of the
overall amount of hindrance to the flow of charge
through the circuit.
6. The overall resistance of a circuit increases as more
and more resistors are placed in series in the circuit.
7. Suppose that three identical resistors with a resistance
of 3-ohms are placed in series with a 12-Volt battery. The
electric potential difference across each resistor is 12
Volts.
8. Parallel circuits are characterized by the fact that there
are multiple pathways by which charge can travel from
the + terminal to the - terminal.
9. The overall resistance of a circuit increases as more
and more resistors are placed in parallel in the circuit.
J. Additional Activities for application or
remediation: Assignment
V.REMARKS
VI.REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation who scored below
80%
C. Did the remediation lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well?
Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
