Activity Design
I. TITLE :
1st Parents Teachers Association General Assembly Meeting
Cum WINS Orientation and DRR-School Safety and
Preparedness
II. RATIONALE :
The physical environment of school buildings and school grounds is a key
factoring the overall health and safety of students, staff, and
visitors. School buildings and grounds must be designed and maintained to be
free of health and safety hazards, and to promote learning.
What is DepEd Wash in Schools?
A school based program that promotes correct hygiene and sanitation practices
through hygiene and sanitation education and the provision of standards for safe
water supply and appropriate sanitation facilities.
Hygiene and sanitation are essential to good health. Adequate water supply
and adequate toilet and hand-washing facilities are required to achieve good
hygiene and sanitation. Proper and correct practices in the use of this facilities
must be practiced to maximize the benefits and achieve the impact to the well-
being of the community.
To help address this concerned the Department of Education (DEPED) issues
the enclosed Policy and Guidelines for the Comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and
Hygiene in Schools (WINS) Program for the promotion of correct hygiene and
sanitation practices among school children and a clean environment in and around
schools to keep learner’s safe and healthy.
There is no such thing as a 'natural' disaster, only natural hazards.Disaster
Risk Reduction (DRR) aims to reduce the damage caused by natural hazards like
earthquakes,floods,droughts and cyclones, through an ethic of prevention.

III. OBJECTIVES:
This activity aims to:
 Ensure correct knowledge and understanding among learners of
effective hygiene and sanitation projects;
 Improve hygiene and sanitation practices among the learners to enable
them to develop life-long positive hygiene and sanitation behaviors.
 Developed awareness to reduce the damage caused by any natural
disaster.
 Engage camaraderie to keep the learning environment clean, safe and
healthy.
IV. PARTICIPANTS:
Participants of this (WINS) Program Orientation are the following;
 Grade IV TO VI pupils
 9 teachers
 1 School Head
 1 School Nurse
 1 Doctor
 PTA Officcers
 Parents
 MDRRMC Personel

V. SCHEDULE AND VENUE:


The (WINS) Program Orientation will be conducted on May 31, 2019 at Tablu
Elementary School covered area, Tablu ,Tampakan ,South Cotabato.

VI. BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS:


Funding for food, snacks and materials for this program shall be sourced
from the budget for school maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE).

VII. EXPECTED OUTPUT:


The activity will develop and enhance learner’s knowledge to help them widen
their understanding about the proper hygiene and sanitation practices and safety
awareness.
