Purpose
Primary Purpose of this document is to provide the architecture and overview of GUI for SMS
Tool.

Architecture
SMS Tool is basically developed in order to capture various type of alarm events from SAM and
NetACT and convert them to SMS through SMSC to respective users.

SMS Tool server has couple of components as mentioned below.


▪ A SMTP listener: It receives alarm mails on SMTP from NetAct and convert them to SMS and
send it to corresponding mapped user.
▪ A JMS listener: It receives alarm mails over JMS from SAM and convert them to SMS and send
it to corresponding mapped user.
▪ A database: MongoDB has been used in order to capture data and for fast retrieval.

1. Login
User needs to open the below mentioned URL in the browser. After opening the URL, user needs
to login.
http://<sms_IP>

2. Dashboard
On Successful Login, home page opens as shown in the screen below.

3. SAM Logs
SAM messages will be visible in this section with an option to search on various attributes as
shown in screenshot below. An option to export the list in csv or as summary will also be visible.

4. NetAct Logs
NetACT messages will be visible in this section with an option to search on various attributes as
shown in screenshot below. An option to export the list in csv or as summary will also be visible.

5. Manage NE
In order to capture alarms for any NE, the NE needs to be first added into the tool with some
required information. Once added, all NE can be viewed in list as shown in below screenshot
where user can perform search, edit or delete in any of the NE shown.
Moreover, an option is available to upload list of NE in bulk.

6. Manage Users
Different users on which SMS needs to be sent can be managed from this section.

7. Config Message Priority
Incoming messages can be filtered on basis of type of that message as mentioned in below
screenshot. Admin has complete rights whether to enable all type of messages or few of those
types as can be seen in below screenshot. In this case, only the enabled ones will be captured in
the tool

8. Audit Logs
All the activity being performed by admin can be viewed from this section.

9. Configuration
Various configuration attributes of tool can be defined through this section including
configuration parameters for backup of database.

10. Manage Admin
Different admins can be created to manage the tool with customized set of permissions with
ability to create user with access to certain modules and having the capability to delete or modify
the existing users.

11. Change Password


Under the Left side menu, user will click on change password to open a new screen, where user
will enter new password and confirm new password and click on submit to perform the action.

Logout option is available on top right-side corner of all the pages.
