Role of Self-Esteem towards Success
People with Low Self-Esteem give up easily and miss opportunities
to display their talent because of their uncertainty in themselves.
Believing in yourself is what allows you to rise up and reach your
potential. When you believe in yourself you are more likely to take
action. To stand up and seize the moment. And to persevere long
after those who doubt themselves. Self-Esteem helps overcome
fear. Fear of Failure, fear of what others think. Self-confidence
means believing in yourself. People with self-esteem believe in
their ability to succeed Confident individuals set the bar high and
aim high. Lack of confidence leads to weak goals, setting the bar
too low, and mediocre results. Confidence lets you know your limits
and test them. By stretching your limits, you increase them. You are
stronger than you think.
2.Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs is a pyramid of the human needs. This
theory states what motivates humans.
In order to better understand what motivates human beings, Maslow
proposed that human needs can be organized into a hierarchy.
According to Maslow, when a lower need is met, the next need on the
hierarchy becomes our focus of attention.
->These are the five categories of needs:
1.Physiological
Basic Needs Such as Food, Water, Shelter and Clothing.
2.Security and Safety
Financial security, Health and wellness, Safety against accidents and
injury.
3. Social Needs
The social needs in include such things as love, acceptance, and
belonging.
4.Esteem Needs
When you satisfy the bottom 3 needs you try to gain the respect of
others and self -esteem.
5.Self Actualization
When you’ve fulfilled all of the other needs you try to become the
best of yourself.
People who worked for the betterment of Human Dignity
Since the 1700s a lot of people have been standing up to injustice
and violation of human dignity.
1.Kailash Satyarthi
Kailash Satyarthi is a renowned Indian child rights activist and the
winner of Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. He is the founder of the Bachpan
Bachao Andolan, an organization dedicated towards destroying Child
trafficking and freeing all children and making them study.
2.Mahatma Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi was the main reason behind India’s Freedom. Not
Only Did he encourage non-violence but he also empowered women.
Gandhi also sought to improve rights outcasts in Indian society. He
abolished the practice of using the term untouchables. He treated
everyone equally.
3.
The South African anti-apartheid revolutionary inspired an
international campaign for his release from prison where he was
serving a life sentence on charges of sabotage and conspiracy to
overthrow the government.. Among other accolades, he has variously
been called "the father of the nation,” "the founding father of
democracy,” and "the national liberator, the savior, its Washington
and Lincoln rolled into one.”
How can we make a difference towards the unprivileged?
Not everyone is privileged, we the privileged people should help the
unprivileged and give them a way to make a living.
There are many unprivileged people in this world. If we start helping
them out one at a time we can eliminate poverty, hunger and
unemployment. Here are some ways you can help the unprivileged:
1. Donate to charities as most of the money donated in a charity
goes to poor and unprivileged people.
2. Start an Organization to help poor and unprivileged people and
gather funds and help for the expenses of an unprivileged person.
3. Give them a job to make a living. Sometimes, if you enroll them
in a job it is better than giving them food or clothing because with
the job they’ll be able to make some money and might even help
them for their whole life.
4. Educate a poor child or enroll him in a hostel. This will help the
kid a lot because if he learns then he can make a living.
5. Volunteer in Fundraising Campaigns or Organizations which are
raising money for poor and needy children.
6. Raise awareness about unprivileged people and charities helping
them.
I have learned from this RARE project that everyone has
needs and it needs to be met to improve in life. These Needs
are for everyone, no one can be stopped from getting what
is their right. I will apply what I have learnt by helping
unprivileged people and having self esteem as it is one of
needs in order to reach the maximum of my potential and
achieve success in life. I feel happy to do this project as it
about a topic which I need to
learn in life to succeed. I liked
researching and finding new
discoveries. This topic will help me
a lot as I can this knowledge to
achieve my full potential. This topic is very relevant as there
are many issues in the world currently related to the denial
of basic human needs.
