Peace Issues and Concerns

The definition of peace may vary depending on the people who define it. But for

me, peace is something closely related to freedom. When there is freedom, there is

peace and when there is peace, there is freedom. Peace is one of the most important

concerns in the whole world these days. The issue on peace has been spread widely

that each and every one of us are affected in some ways. My personal view on peace is

that it is not hard to achieve as long as you have your heart to pursue it and that you are

passionate and positive that things will fall perfectly into place when you really work

hard for it. Peace is achievable. I, myself, have found peace especially when I am alone

and get the freedom to do and think what I want. It is when I understand how important

the people and the things around me are that brings peace within me.

In the past years and up until now, the Philippines has been fighting for peace

specifically in the Mindanao region. And I think that achieving peace would be a lot

easier if the people there are given the chance to vent out their issues and speak out

what they really wanted in the first place. This will help the people living there who seek

peace a very long time ago be given the opportunity to be granted what they were truly

looking for. The same with the entire world. If one cannot give the other the peace he

was looking for, there would really be no occurrence of peace at all. Violence will never

solve anything, not one conflict. It would only make the situation a lot worse. We should
always be willing to give to others most importantly when they seek for it because it will

bear goodness in return.

A big role is played by youths like me in spreading peace around the globe.

Young people have strong drive to achieve peace and also, they are strongly craving for

future without violence and conflict. As a student, I think I can help in developing peace

in my community by joining different peace activities conducted within the community.

Join and actively participate in peace seminars where people share their own

experiences and thoughts about peace. These will serve as my inspiration to continue

being involved in activities that spreads positivity and peace not just all over the

community but also beyond it.

Peace starts within ourselves but does not end just within us. It starts with little

actions, together with respect and solidarity, which will give us the peace we have been

craving for. Wars are prevalent in and out of the country however, if all were given the

chance to experience proper education, this will truly help in minimizing and preventing

wars from occurring. Education matters to each and every one of us and it is one of the

key aspects in understanding one another fuller and better. We may not have a perfect

world and the perfect people but we can always try to make everything work in a way

that we perceive it to be as perfect as it could get.
