Rules and regulations of the Film Competition

“A day in the life of … (nationality) … students”

§1

THE ORGANISER

1. The Organiser of the Competition is Kazimierz Pulaski University of Technology and


Humanities in Radom (The Organiser).

§2

AIMS

1. The aim of this competition is to:


a) choose the most original video (entry), which shows a typical day in the life of students (6-18
years)
b) encourage students to be creative,
c) encourage students to use technologies,
d) promote talents.

§3

REGULATIONS OF THE COMPETITION AND GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

1. The competition is aimed at primary school students and high school students from all over
the world.
2. The task is to record a short video in English, entitled “A day in the life of students from
different countries around the world”.
3. Entry assessment will be done in the following age category:
- 6-18 years;

4. The length of the video entry should not exceed 3 minutes. No minimum entry length is
specified.
5. The video entry must be sent to the Organiser at: video.contest@wp.pl

§4

COMPETITION REGULATIONS

1. Participants are required to submit a completed online entry form, provided by the Organiser.
2. All entries must be received by 1 November 2019, 23:59 (GMT Time) at: video.contest@wp.pl
3. Any entries received after this time will not be considered.
4. Adult Participants are required to submit a written statement of consent to the processing of
their personal data and the use of image. Underage Participants require a written parental or
legal guardian consent. Written statements of consent should accompany the video entry,
and be sent via email, in the form of an electronic scan, to the Organiser. Failure to submit the
aforementioned written consent, the entry will be removed from the nominated to the finals
list.
5. Video entries shall not have been previously published on the Internet or any other medium.
6. Submitting a video entry is free of charge.
7. The entry may be recorded using any technology.
8. Videos that contain pornographic, racist, or threatening physical, mental or moral
development of minors and those that violate these rules or regulations of general law or
generally accepted social and moral norms will not be accepted in the Competition.

§5

THE JURY

1. Entry assessment will be done in two stages:


a) in the first stage, 20 best films will be selected by the jury appointed by the Organiser.

b) in the second stage of the competition, the Organizer will appoint a group of experts in
the field of teaching, who will select 3 winning video entries.

John Hughes
Rob Howard

2. At each stage, members of the jury appointed by the Organiser will evaluate the video entries
by awarding points at their own discretion:
- 10 points: topic
- 10 points: creativity
- 10 points: emotional value
- 5 points: technical excellence
Sum: 35 points
3. 1st prize : A gift card with a value of not less than 150 euros, a board game REGIPIO, books
and gadgets sponsored by the publishers: Oxford University Press, Macmillan and Express
Publishing.

2st prize : a board game REGIPIO, books and gadgets sponsored by the publishers.

3rd prize : a board game REGIPIO, books and gadgets sponsored by the publishers.

4. Submission of video materials to the competition is equivalent to granting consent for


unlimited and free use of the submitted competition materials by the Organizer.

5. Submissions will be considered as acceptance of the terms and conditions and approval of
the processing and sharing of personal data in accordance with the Act of 29.08.1997 about
the protection of personal data (i.e. Dz.U. [Journal of Laws] 2016.992 with its subsequent
amendments) and the transfer of copyright property rights to the Kazimierz Pulaski University
of Technology and Humanities in Radom.
6. The winners of the awarded videos will be announced on the Competition website, My
Magical Dust Facebook group and published in the media and on the Internet portals with
regards to the names, images, and information of the competition entries.
7. In the event of infringement of the third party rights, and in particular of copyright, by the
Participant submitting the video, full legal and financial responsibility shall be borne by such
Participant.

§6
ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS

1. The Organiser will announce the winners on the Competition website on 1 December 2019.
2. Participants of the winning videos will be contacted by the Competition Organizer, via e-mail
submitted in the entry form, informing them of their right to receive the prize no later than
14 days after the announcement of the results.
3. The Organiser reserves the right to change the date of the announcement of the winners in
case of an exceptionally large number of entries.
