Dear members of the Greek Community,

As you are aware the university communicated a recent change on an ongoing project
for the Greek Village. Below is a statement providing further clarification from the
university.

Since the Greek Village first opened, there has been an amazing growth in our Greek
community that is now severely impairing parking - especially during mandatory meal
periods required by the organizations. To address these concerns, the university began
plans for creating additional parking on land the university currently owns on Devine
Street across from the Greek Village.

While the original plan included the construction of a $36 million parking garage, the
university believes it can provide in excess of 800 parking spaces by utilizing a number
of surface options immediately adjacent to the Greek Village that will be exclusively for
fraternity and sorority members. This solution will cost significantly less than the
original parking garage proposal. The plan will also deliver a parking solution that more
quickly meets the needs of the Greek community and significantly reduces the lifespan
of the Greek parking fee.

The revenue collected by the Greek parking fee, to date approximately $7.5 million, will
be used to construct and maintain the parking lots, as well as for the demolition of two
university owned buildings located on the project site to allow for it to be repurposed for
parking. Approval from the Board of Trustees is expected in October and the university
will revisit the timetable for sunsetting the parking fee at that time.

As more information is provided it will be communicated to impacted community

members.
