**Discussion Board Grading Criteria**

1. The discussion board question (DQ) will open at 12:01 am on Sunday. Your initial
post is due by Wednesday at 1159 pm with replies to 2 peers posts due by the
following Sunday at 1159 pm. Students are expected to be active in this online
course a minimum of 3 out of 7 days a week. For each discussion question one
outside source can be cited in addition to your course references or texts.
2. Each initial post will be a minimum of 300 words and each reply post a minimum of
150 words, and will be grading on comprehension, clinical reasoning skills,
organization, clarity, spelling and grammar (See rubric posted on each discussion
question ) All posts need to be checked for spelling and grammatical errors prior to
posting. Each student must post an initial post before they can view their peers
postings.
3. All assignments will be appropriately formatted and cited in the American
Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition

Apical pulse: irregular
No palpable radial or pedal pulse Weak carotid pulse

ECG:
 : Rigid -distended abdomen
 Pallor, cool extremities
Answer the following questions related to the case study on KL Support your
answers with current resources and include the course resources.

1. What type of shock is K.L. experiencing? What clinical manifestations support your
answer? Include at least three concepts that apply to this case and the rationale for
each.
2. What was the causes of K.L.’s shock states? What are other types of shock is KL at
risk for and why?
3. Discuss at least three critical nursing interventions needed to care for a patient in
shock! Support your response with current resource.
4. Priority Decision: What are the priority nursing responsibilities and what
ongoing nursing assessment parameters are essential for K.L.?
5. Priority Decision: Based on the assessment data presented, what is the priority
nursing diagnosis?
6. Delegation Decision: Identify the tasks that could be delegated to nursing assistive
personnel.
