SCENE #2 Arrival of Magellan

Shekinah: March 16, 1521. Ferdinand Magellan and his fleet arrived on the islands called "the islands of the
thieves". After 10 days of sailing across landrones islands they've reached the island Zamal but decided to land in
somewhere else to rest.

Scene#3 NINE MEN WITH GIFTS

Shekinah: 2 days after, 9 men came with joy and happiness in seeing them. Magellan welcomed them and they
exchanged gifts like food and drinks. The people were friendly and very familiar. (project different islands)They
toured on different islands and Magellan found the first signs of gold which he called the "watering place of good
signs".

Scene #4 balanghai

Shekinah: On the 25th day of march, they saw two balanghais, full of people together with their king, Raia Siagu.
They exchanged gifts and expressed their desire to become brothers.

Magellan(rica): "take a look at these armors. Daggers and swords cannot penetrate through these".

Raia Siagu(ellaine): "amazing!. look, these islands Are all mine. (Project Islands)

Scene #4

Shekinah: After a few days, Magellan was introduced to the king's brother, Raia Calambu, which was the king of
another island. Magellan was fascinated for Raia Calambu's house was made of gold, (golden house) he was
adorned with silk and gold accessories.

Magellan(rica):"You are THE MOST HANDSOME OF ALL MEN I SAW IN THIS PLACE".

Raia Calambu(ellaine): Thank you

Shekinah: (island/seashore)On march 31st, which was an Easter Sunday, Magellan ordered to preside a Mass by the
shore. The natives heard of it and joined them in the mass. This was the first mass in the philippines.

Scene #5

After seven days, magellan decided to move and they have heard the land of Ceylon and Zzubu which was the
richest among other islands and intended to go there. (island/seashore2)

The king of Cebu demanded Magellan and his troops to pay tribute for them.

King(tina): you should bow before me and my men for i am the king of this island

Magellan: i am the captain of a king and i would not pay tribute to other kings. Lets just be friends.

Shekinah: By the next day, Magellan's men and the king of cebu, met in an open space. There, the king offered a bit
of his blood and demanded that magellan do the same.
The following day, Magellan spoke before the people of Cebu about peace and God. After eight days, all of the
island's inhabitant were already baptized.

On the 26th of April, Zula, a principal man from the island of Matan went to see Magellan.

Zula(jovelyn): please give me a boat full of men for i will fight chief Silapulapu.

Magellan:(Three boats)have these three boats and i will fight that chief with you.

Scene #6

Shekinah:(island/seashore)Magellan's forces arrived in Mactan in daylight. The islanders of Mactan were estimated
to number 1,500. The battle began. (Battle)

Scene #7

Shekinah: Magellan died in that battle.(island/seashore)

Zula(Jovelyn): please have these gifts in exchange for Magellan's body.

Lapulapu(chua): no, we will not accept that.

Lapulapu invited them to a feast and natives had slain all of the men except the interpreter and Juan Serrano.

Serrano(Mary): Help me ! Please save me !

Shekinah: (ship leaving) They refused and would not allow anyone to go to the shore. The fleet departed and
abandoned Serrano. They left Cebu and continued their journey around the world.
