MINISTRY FOR THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND
We are grateful to those who give of their time and care
to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners who
cannot make it to church due to sickness or infirmity. If
you know of anyone who would like to receive
communion in their home or while hospitalized at West
Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish office.
CWL NEWS
CWL Sash Sunday - will be held September 27/28th
at all Masses.
Membership fees for 2020 are due in September. Blue
envelopes are provided in your offertory boxes, or write
"CWL fee" & your name on a plain envelope and place
it in the collection basket. Membership remains $25.
Haldimand Region Fall Conference, Wednesday
October 16th @ St. Martin of Tour Parish,
Smithville with Comedienne Pamela Appel. Born to
be on stage, Pamela loves to spread joy and laughter to
audiences far and wide. When is the last time you had a
big belly laugh? Homemade cabbage roll dinner at 6:30
p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m. $10 at the door. Please
let Colleen or Piera know if you plan to attend.

LADY OF HOLY ROSARY SHRINE
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Shrine, 4706 Miller Road,
Port Colborne welcomes Bishop Bergie on Thursday,
October 3, 2019. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00
p.m. and Bishop Bergie will celebrate Mass at 7:30
p.m. – EVERYONE IS WELCOME. The Shrine
operates May to October. Every Thursday at 7:00 p.m.,
in the Chapel, the Rosary is recited followed by the

Like the shrewd manager and his
demanding master, we can become
so obsessed with the pursuit of
wealth and the manipulation of
power that we seem to give up a
piece of our humanity in the
process. Christ calls us to
something far greater: to use that same dedication of
energy, ability and efficiency to make the reign of God
a reality in our own time and place.
Sometimes we let the things we possess possess us,
demanding our time and attention at the expense of the
people we love. The danger of owning things is
forgetting that the value is not in the thing itself but in
that thing’s enabling us to save time and make our life
easier so that we can concentrate on the more important
values that the gift of life offers us.
Christ warns his hearers not to trust in wealth for its
own sake but to use wealth - whatever form our
“wealth” takes - to establish the Father’s kingdom of
compassion, reconciliation and justice in our midst.

A FREE WORKSHOP

LIFE CHAIN
SUNDAY OCTOBER 6TH, 1:00-2:00 P.M.
On Sunday, October 6 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. we
plan to gather at the intersection of Main St and Christie
St in Grimsby to pray for an end to abortion. We will be
joining our prayers with thousands of people in 1600
locations across Canada and the United States who will
be forming Life Chains in their communities on the
same day!
We will pray silently and hold professionally-printed
signs provided at the site. This is a local witness
intended to generate thought and discussion within our
community and to demonstrate that abortion is not a
closed or settled issue in this country.

A Registration meeting for parents of grade 2 students
baptised in the Roman Catholic Church who are
preparing to celebrate the Sacraments of First
Confession and First Communion this school year will

p.m. in the parish hall. Students are welcome to attend.

CONFIRMATION: A Registration meeting for
