A. Preliminary Activities

Motivation:

 Teacher presents the word and students explain it. (Example:


Death and Sadness)

B. Lesson Proper

a. Activity
 Group the students into 3 groups. Each group must have a picture
that shows death, sadness and broken-hearted. One member of a
group explains in front on what they notice about the picture.

b. Analysis
 A brief discussion is facilitated by the teacher about elegy and
gives one example on it.
 Distribute the copy of the poem entitled, “Won’t You Celebrate with
Me”. The students should read the poem with feelings.

c. Abstraction
 Ask students on what they understand about Elegy.

2. How do you understand the poem?
d. Application
 Students compose their own elegy poem about their past
relationship or any sad moment in their life which compose of 4
lines and 2 stanzas. Pick random students to read and explain it.
