Reflections:
Since I started this year’s ISM journey, I have started enhancing my professionalism by
creating a strong and concise resume, digital portfolio, and by learning more about networking
skills to prepare for the upcoming Business Symposium. Furthermore, I have gained a much
more in-depth insight into my field of interest, Cybersecurity, by learning about what the
technical requirements are and what kinds of personality are suitable for the job. So far, based on
what I have researched so far, I feel as though I am pursuing a career that is well-fit for me, but I
can’t confirm that until I actually spend some time throughout this year with my mentor. As for
my contact list, I have successfully found 30 strong contacts from the Cybersecurity field, and
many of them have come from LinkedIn, which I found to be very helpful so far. I have already
connected with a couple of professionals through LinkedIn, but I need to start contacting many
more people this upcoming week and the next to set up interview times and hopefully narrow
down my mentor selection list. I am excited to continue my research about Cybersecurity and
build my professional skills throughout this year in ISM.
