Human Resource Management is concerned with people in
management. HRM is the term increasingly used to refer to the philosophy, policy, procedure and practices relating to the management of people within organisation. Since every organisation is made up of people, acquiring their services, developing their skills, motivating them to higher level of performance and ensuring that they continue to maintain their commitment to the organisation, are essential in achieving organisational objectives. Introduction HR thus create organisation and make them survive and prosper. If HR are neglected or mismanaged, the organisation is unlikely to do well. organisation and their effective management is the key to its success. The success is most likely to achieve if personnel POLICY & PROCEDURE of the enterprise are closely linked with, and make a major contribution to the achievement of corporate objectives and strategic plans. The CORPORATE CULTURE and the values, organisational climate and managerial behaviour that emanate from culture which exert a major influence on the achievement of excellence. HRM is concerned with the INTEGRATION i.e., getting all the members of the organisation involved and working together with the sense of common workers. Objectives of HRM Objectives are the predetermined goals which individual or group activity in an organisation is directed. Objectives of HRM are derived from basic objectives of an organisation. In order to achieve organisational objectives, integration of employers interest and employees interest is necessary. They are as follows:- To improve the service rendered by the enterprise to society through building better employee morale. To create and utilise an able and motivated work force, to accomplish the basic organisational goals. To enhance the skill and knowledge of employee efficiently and effectively. Objectives of HRM To strengthen and appreciate the human assets continuously by providing training and development programs. To maintain high employee morale and sound human relation by sustaining and improving, the various conditions and facilities.
