How will the memorial be developed?
The development of a memorial for the Murrindindi Shire must be a community effort and a collaboration between
all community members, including those who were flame affected and those who were not. We all have stories to
tell and ideas to share, and this is an opportunity to capture these reflections and pay tribute to our strength and
community spirit.
Throughout 2011 there will be a range of opportunities for members of the community to engage in whatever way
they feel comfortable. This will include:
• Forums, events and workshops • Online based forums and tools
• One-on-one meetings and interviews • Art, poetry and other programs
Newsletters, media and other publications will be used to provide information about the engagement opportunities
and to share the information being gathered.
We believe this process is an important part of healing for our community and hope that you will share your ideas in
whatever way you are able. We encourage you to begin the conversation by calling us on 1800 637 876 or emailing
communityfeedback@bigpond.com.
