Description: ​The aim of the project is to implement

DSTATCOM with different control strategies in the MATLAB,
simulink using Simpower systems tool box and to verify and
compare the results through various case studies applying
different loads and study them in detail.
My project focuses on power quality improvement of
small isolated alternator feeding a three phase three wire
distribution system with a linear load. Some power quality
aspects like power-factor correction, voltage regulation and
load balancing of linear load are discussed and implemented
using DSTATCOM. And also various control algorithms
specified are reviewed and analyzed through digital
simulations. The models are developed and simulated in
MATLAB using simulink and power system block set (PSB)
tool boxes. It is observed that DSTATCOM is effective in
compensating reactive power and improving the power quality
of distribution systems.
