Different types and purposes of organisation

An organization is a formal structure of relationships, responsibilities and authorities through which specific
objectives are achieved. Organizations are set up in such ways to accomplish or gain with effort its given
targets or goals. It can be of large and small scales with higher sales. Some of these of organizations are for
profit and some are not for profit organizations.
Rod Howell consider the different organizations according to their legal structure as follows:

1. Sole Proprietorship
2. Partnership
3. Private limited company
4. Public limited company
5.NGOs

Sole Proprietorship:
A sole proprietorship also referred to as a sole trader, is an unincorporated business which has
only one owner who pays personal income tax on profits that are earned from the business.

Adding more a sole proprietorship is one of the easiest types of business to establish or take
apart, due to a lack of government laws and regulation. As such, sole proprietorships are very
popular among individual self-contractors, consultants or small business owners. Many sole
proprietors do their business under their own names because creating a separate business or trade
name is not necessary. (Howell, 2019)

Partnership:
A partnership is a formal arrangement within two or more parties to manage and operate a
business and share its profits.

There are many types of partnership arrangements. In particular, in a partnership business, all
partners share profits equally, while in others, partners have limited liability. There is also a type
of partner known as silent partner in the partnership. The only thing this "sole partner" does is to
give his amount and get the profit. (Howell, 2019)

Private limited company:

A private company is a type of company which is working under the control of private
ownership. Such companies can issue stock and do have shareholders as well, but the thing is
that their shares cannot be traded on public exchanges. In a result of this, these private firms don
not have to meet the (SEC) that is the Security and Exchange Commission requirements.
Therefore, the shares of these companies are less liquid and the evaluation of these companies
become difficult. (CHEN, 2019)

Public limited Company:

Public limited company is a type of an organization whose shares are traded on stock exchange
and can be bought and sold by anyone. These companies are strictly regulated. Law is required to
fully complete and truly publish their financial position, this is done in order to determine the
true value of the shares of the investors. Public limited company and its abbreviation that is PLC
is commonly used all over the world. To give reference
NGOs:

A non-governmental organization (NGO) is a non-profit, citizen-based group. The functions of

organized on local, national and international levels to serve specific social or political purposes.

NGOs mainly rely on a variety of sources for funding projects, operations, salaries and other
