Hydraulic Test

PURPOSE
To minimize hazards and associated risks while carrying out Hydraulic
test of Boiler , Heater & its piping at site.

SCOPE
Applicable to Hydraulic test of Boiler , Heater & its piping activity
carried out any where under execution function.

RESPONSIBILTY:
Site in-charge / Site engineer / Safety officer / Vendor Supervisor /
Workmen
PROCEDURE:
Check for :
1. Pump capacity and test certificate of hydraulic test pump
2. Proper hose joints at pump inlet and outlet
3. Properly connected electrical connection for the pump with required
electrical safe guard
4. Pump is mounted on firm base
5. Proper hardware and gaskets for flanged joint as per design / drawing,
if any.—for the equipment being tested.
6. Provide proper venting arrangement
7. No one is near the flange joints during the pressurisation process as
there is a chance of joint failure
8. Proper scaffolding to all joints to be tested during hydraulic test.
9. Only required and minimum workforce will be engaged during the
testing.
10. Proper anchors, supports and other attachment to the pressure
equipment.
11. Correct size of blank plate as specified in the drawing or informed
by the engineering
12. No welding or hammering is done on testing equipment during
hydraulic test process
13. Caution note to be displayed

IN CASE OF DEVIATIONS:
Below are the risks that would arise if there are any deviations from the
stated procedure.
 Slippery
 Fall
