I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards
The learner demonstrates understanding of planning, installing and testing computer
systems and network.
B. Performance Standard
The learner independently performs correct planning, installing and testing computer
systems and network.
C. Learning Competency
Familiarize oneself with computer peripheral, devices, systems in accordance with
established procedures correct operation and safety.
D. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the session, the students must be able to:

1. Define an operating system;


2. Identify the purpose of the operating system;
3. Identify the Classifications of an operating system; and
4. Appreciate the importance of an Operating System to a computer.

Before we proceed to our lesson, let us first have a quick review of our
previous lesson. So what was our previous lesson all about?
Guideline questions:
1. What are the forms of a personal computer?
2. How do those forms of a personal computer differ?

b. Analysis
How do those forms of personal computer works?
Why is it important to know the system that runs your computer?
What is the purpose of the operating system to a computer unit?

c. Abstraction
Discussion about an operating system and its classification
Explaining the purpose of operating system to a computer unit
 What is the purpose of the operating system to a computer unit?

d. Application
CROSS WORD PUZZLE
Task: The students are going to identify the classification of operating system by
filling-out the cross word puzzle (5 mins)

IV. EVALUATION
The students will write a self-reflection about the importance of operating system
to a computer using the guideline questions below:
Guideline questions:
1. What are the various services provided by an Operating System?
2. What is the role of the operating system to your computer? Why it is
significant?

VI. REFLECTION:

Let the students feel that they are loved and wanted by always checking on who
is absent and what happened to them, or even ask them if they are good or not.

Being a friend, a guidance counselor, a mother, and a teacher yet maintaining


the respect, and letting them feel that you understand them is also a very good
strategy. It is one way of establishing comfort and trust.
