Job Description: RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

The International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC) (www.iiec.org) is a non-governmental,

not-for-profit organization, with headquarters in Washington, DC, US, established to foster the
implementation of energy conservation and clean energy programs in developing countries and
countries in transition. IIEC’s mission is to accelerate the global adoption of renewable energy and
energy efficiency policies, technologies and practices to enable economic and environmentally
sustainable development. IIEC pursues this mission through fieldwork undertaken by its regional offices
in India, Thailand and the Philippines.

IIEC-India is currently seeking a qualified Research Associate to join its India office. The candidate
should have the experience of working in at least one of our focus areas covering Air quality
management, Cooling technologies, Renewable energy, Climate change, Clean Energy access, Energy
Efficiency and electric mobility sectors. The successful candidate will undertake research, execute
projects, manage data sets, develop proposals, and directly interact with clients.

 Ability to coordinate project execution

 Capable to manage data sets
 Coordinate with project partners and interface with clients
 Ability to conduct desk research and analysis
 Should be able to conduct surveys and field work, and undertake interviews
 Ensure quality and timeliness of project deliverables, especially reports and presentations
 Network and engage with suitable project partners, if needed
 Support in writing project reports and other deliverables
 Coordinate client meetings and presentations

Required Skills and Experience:

 An advanced degree preferably in engineering, environmental studies, policy studies and economics
with a sound understanding in clean energy and environmental programs
 At least 2-3 years of demonstrated experience working in a high demand, fast paced, changing
organization, with flexibility and competing deadlines
 Proactive in business development and marketing skills
 Excellent research and analysis skills with proven ability to deliver to deadlines
 Excellent writing and communication abilities
 Strong understanding of the development sector topics
 A team player with a positive and proactive attitude
 Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure
