II. Purpose: Inform and educate the client on ways to control and prevent Dengue

III. Goal: Help the client prevent dengue through equipping her with knowledge on how to combat the
said disease

Environment: Surrounding is clean and free of trash
Some water containers have no cover

Based on my assessment to my client, I believe that the client is in a healthy condition however, there is
the presence of a health hazard that warrants immediate action to prevent further complications or
illnesses. Therefore I am conducting this lecture to inform and give proper knowledge about Dengue
Prevention.

VII. Procedures
A. Reading of Objectives
At the end of the lesson. The client will be able to:
-Identify the risk factors associated to her environment
-Plan and take necessary preventive actions.
-Understand the importance of covering water containers and destroying of breeding sites
B. Lesson Proper
-Student Nurse will start the discussion starting from the basic definition of dengue all the way up
to its symptoms and prevention and control.
C. Teaching Methods
-The Educator will discuss and give a talk about the given topic through an oral presentation and will
show examples using print outs.
D. Generalization
- Dengue is a disease that can be prevented. With proper knowledge, it can be avoided and should
not pose as a threat..

Life is something that has been given to us by God and it is something that we should look after and be
thankful for. To care for other people and to share my knowledge is the ultimate desire of my heart. Knowledge
that I know can be of use to other people, knowledge that can extend a persons life, and knowledge that can inspire
and motivate others to do well.

IX. Content Summary:

In the topic, Dengue Prevention and Control, its purpose is to provide knowledge on the said disease and
to teach ways on how to prevent and control it. The discussion will start with the basic definition of Dengue
followed by its symptoms, causes and treatment approach. The goal of the Educator is to inform and educate the
client about Dengue Prevention and help him eradicate potential hazards.

XI. Evaluation of Objectives:

After the discussion, the client will be able to recall the possible breeding sites of dengue. The client will be
able to enumerate at least 1 risk factor. The client will express her willingness to further clean her surroundings
and apply what she has learned in the talk.
