2-1 Support TCZ initial copy for URZ initial copy
Description This function performs True Copy for z/OS initial copy for a UR for z/OS pair in the
suspend state, aiming to improve the performance of UR for z/OS initial copy by
making a set of processing steps shown below as one script that is executed with a
command issued from BCM. A set of processing steps: URZ initial copy (No copy)
> URZ suspend > TCZ initial copy > TCZ delete > URZ resync. To use the
function, the following P.P are required to be installed: True Copy for z/OS, True
Copy for z/OS Asynchronous, Universal Replicator for IBM z/OS

New System Option Mode 474 is available to use the function.

Public Mode – No Permission Required to Use. The option must be set to ON for
both MCU and RCU to enable the function, and set to OFF after executing the
script.

When using the function in the Multi Target/ Cascade configuration, first create a
UR for z/OS pair.

1. A WWN registered no longer existed.
2. An attempt to re-register the WWN mentioned in #1 failed.

minutes) occurred on the line between the main and remote site of
UR, the UR pair suspended despite system option 449 ON, which
is used to prevent link down from being monitored.

When comparing the performance between in PPRC configuration
and in PPRC and XRC configuration, the response time in the
former configuration significantly degraded. This is because the
increase of Discount Time directly affected the performance.
