a. Wet flue gas cleaning system: - AE&E offers limestone flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) scrubbers with high reliability and availability - For plants located in coastal areas we off er an FGD plant using natural seawater as absorbent - Limestone_FGD_advanced scrubber design: The company occupies a leading position in the area of scrubber simulation, which not only allows it to simulate flow and temperature profiles, but also to calculate the distribution of SO2 concentrations in the scrubber. During subsequent comparisons with actual plant measurements, the flow and temperature profiles have verified the design parameters. - The result is optimum scrubber design, which is characterised by minimum dimensions, adaptable scrubber entry and exit geometry and the optimum layout of the spray nozzles and spraying banks. This enables the achievement of a uniform SO2 profile in combination with the highest possible superficial velocity in the scrubber, whereby maximum removal efficiences are attained with minimum power consumption. - Besides optimum technical design, AE&E gives high priority to the use of the latest materials and construction methods - Key features: o An outstanding reference basisfor all fuels (lignite, hard coal, oil, biomass, waste) o SO2 removal of over 99% o Maximum HCl and HF removal levels o Gypsum as a saleable end product o Flue gas volume fl ows of up to approx. 5,000,000 m3/h [stp, wet] per scrubber o Limestone as a favourably priced absorption agent o Low operating costs and power consumption o Open spray tower, low pressure loss o A variety of materials are used (high alloy, carbon steel with rubber lining, concrete with PP-lining, glass fi bre reinforced plastics) - PRODUCT INNOVATIONS o FGD Plus that to achieve maximum SO2 and dust removal whilst keeping energy inputs to a minimum. The technology is suitable for both new and revamping projects o The extended FGDplus concept involves the integration of a wet electrostatic precipitator (ESP) with our scrubber system. This achieves the SO2 dust (PM1.0) and aerosol separation efficiency necessary for zero emission power stations-a basic prerequisite for future post combustion arbon capture applications. o Bromium based Mecury removal: The technology, which stands out for its simplicity, is well tried and is in operation at coal-fired power stations and Energy- from-Waste plants. Mercury is a highly toxic heavy metal which is present in most types of coal, typically in the 0.2 mg/kg range, though much higher concentrations are not uncommon. Mercury is mainly released in its elemental form (metallic mercury) through combustion. As a licensee AE&E offers bromine based mercury separation technology that achieves flue gas mercury removal rates of 90% and more. This is made possible by controlled oxidation of the mercury which is then scrubbed out of the flue gas. b. Dry flue gas cleaning systems - Moreover (AE&E), we offer special lime or sodium bi-carbonate dry sorption reactors for the adsorptive cleaning process - AE&E’s dry flue gas cleaning technologies are based on two main applications: o TURBOSORP® is the ideal solution for fl ue gas cleaning downstream of biomass incinerations, RDF-fi red boilers or Energyfrom-Waste plants. o TURBO-CDS is the right choice for fl ue gas cleaning downstream oil or coal-fi red boilers. c. SCR DeNOx systems - We use the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) process technology for the de- nitrifi cation of flue gas – both as high-dust and as low-dust configuration d. Dedusting systems - AE&E offers fabric filters and electrostatic precipitators to filter the dust out of the raw gas.
