Description For TC, TC for z/OS, UR, and UR for z/OS, the window of Storage Navigator displays the
name of the storage used on the other side as follows.
1. RAID600 is used on the other side:
HDS: USP V/ USP VM
HP: XP24000/XP20000
2. RAID500 is used on the other side:
HDS: USP/ NSC
HP: XP12000/XP10000
3. RAID450 is used on the other side:
HDS: 9900V
HP: XP1024/XP128
Display based on the configuration of the model itself. For example, if USP V connected to
with XP12000, as the storage used on the other side, USP displayed on the USP V side while
XP24000 displayed on the XP12000 side.

3-1 Improvement of the drag and drop operation for adding WWN
Description LUN Manager has a feature that a user can add a WWN with the drag and drop operation.
When a user performs the drag and drop operation by using the left button of a mouse, a
newly available confirmation message displays to warn the user if he really wants to add the
WWN.

Phenomena During TC Sync, initial copy and MCU planned PS Off/On, the dozens of
pairs suspended.

2 Slow display operation in POOL window of Storage Navigator


Phenomena In the POOL window of Storage Navigator, it took long to display the
operation menu by right clicking the Dynamic Provisioning folder.

3 Inappropriate message for pairs exceeding accumulation limit


Phenomena In each Pair Operation window of TC for Open or z/OS of Storage
Navigator, if pairs tried to be accumulated in the Preview exceeded the
maximum number of pairs (8,916 pairs) to be accumulated, the
inappropriate error message "An Error occurred" appeared.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when trying to accumulate pairs that exceed the
maximum number of pairs (8,196 pairs) in the Preview in each operation
window of TC for Open or z/OS of Storage Navigator.
Causes and Updates The micro-program modified so that the error message "6010-69033" or
"6010-69034" displays to warn users that the number of pairs attempted
to accumulate exceeds the maximum.
Although the message is displayed, the apply operation is available.

4 Inappropriate error message for CHT un-installation failure
Phenomena CHT installation without CSW mounted failed. After that, for un-
installation of the CHT to recover the error, when selecting Install-
Change Configuration, an error message INS2231E, which indicates that
a logical error occurred, and could not execute the un-installation.
Performing SVP reboot made no difference.
Then, after recovering the CHT by using the Maintenance window, re-
executed the un-installation, and the message INS2213E did not occur.

CHT blocked.

Phenomena During the suspend operation from MCU, when the PS was turned off on
RCU, the pair status on the MCU remained in Suspending.

9 SIM=602fff and SSB=af1a at recovery from pool blockade


Phenomena Pool recovery operation failed with SIM=602fff and SSB=af1a reported.
Note that the pool automatically recovers within an hour at the latest after
the LDEV recovery because the automatic recovery logic activates once
per hour.

Conditions of Occurrence When a COW or DP pool blocked due to LDEV blockade, the blocked
pool attempted to recover after the LDEV recovery. The problem occurs,
in that case, if the free capacity of the pool is smaller than the recovering

15 LDEV blockade due to DKU power off at temporary blackout


Phenomena According to the current specification, when operation performed in the
Battery De-Stage Mode, a blackout for 60 or less seconds does not affect
a host I/O. However, due to a micro-program failure, LDEV sometimes
blocked by DKU power off occur even at a temporary blackout for
between 52 and 60 seconds.
(After that, battery recovery occurred and the LDEV automatically
recovered.)

20 Slow display of performance management monitor
Phenomena If the configuration of Parity Group and LDEV was large, when any of
the nodes shown below was selected in the Performance Management
window, the Waiting dialog window was displayed and it took long,
sometimes more than 50 minutes, to complete the display of the monitor
window.
Node to be selected:
- In the LDEV tab the Subsystem or Parity Group folder
- In the Physical tab, the Subsystem, Parity Group, External folder, or
each tree node of Parity Group or External Group.

21 Invalid access due to invalid VDEV# parameter input


Phenomena At the time of LDEV format request, the input parameter of VDEV# was
invalid, and therefore a failure recovery process performs and invalid

Format parameter creation is out of the range (Invalid number of discrete

Phenomena During an I/O operation to a TC Sync pair, the reported Check Condition

23 Invalid response of Parameter Change UA


Phenomena When the MP reboots at Non Stop SCSI micro-program exchange, the
current value of Mode Page initializes to the default value. In that case,
the host set the current value again with the Mode Select command, and
Parameter Change UA returns to another host.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when performing Non Stop SCSI micro-program
exchange.

24 No operation trace for analysis at SVP failure


Phenomena SVP went down due to SVP Fail Over. At that time, no trace operation
occurred in a file before the SVP PS Off, so there was no way of
analyzing the processing.

25 COW pair deletion failure
Phenomena The deletion of a COW pair failed with WCHK1 reported.

Conditions of Occurrence The problem occurs when a hardware failure occurs (CHK1 or CHK3)
during the deletion of a COW pair.

26 Backup failure or one-side SM blockade due to battery run out


Phenomena After the PS Off, operation ended normally, if AC PS broke down, the
battery power consumed for SM memory backup.
When the battery power consumed, if a PS failed soon after the power
cycle, the backup for a specified time not guaranteed. Also, if the interval
time period between the PS OFF and PS ON was long, the battery power
might run out that led to one side of SM to be volatilized, which means
that one side of SM was blocked.

1. A system PS failure occurs before the battery is charged to full
2. A battery runs out because the interval between PS OFF and PS ON

Phenomena During I/O processing on the Cascading configuration, SSB=c08b (a
command was issued to prevent an access when the VOL was used as R-
VOL and HST is in the startup process) was reported invalidly.

28 Micro-program exchange failure in URZ cascading


Phenomena When performing micro-grogram exchange online on the primary site in
the UR for z/OS cascading configuration, the exchange operation failed
during the MP reboot with an error message displayed indicating that the

29 Cache installation/un-installation prevented by CUDG


Phenomena With cache installed or uninstalled, and the SM capacity changed, and
allowed a previously unallowable SM pattern. As a result, the cache
installation/un-installation failed by CUDG.
