Subject:- Installation of AC Drive for Radial Fan for Carding H-Plant.

VMT, Baddi unit has sent a proposal for installation of an AC Drive for varying the
motor speed for controlling the suction pressure instead of closing the damper in duct.

Site was visited on 17/4/09 and data of electrical parameters was recorded using
Portable Load Manager on the 55 KW Danfoss make drive installed for trial purpose.

The unit is operating the system at 44 HZ since 25/9/2008 and facing no problem
in the working shed.

Some time the fan motor is operated at 48HZ and payback calculations are given
below:-

Power consumption without inverter = 46.07 KW

Power consumption at 48 HZ = 41.09 KW
Power saving = 4.98 KW
Energy Saving = 4.98 x 23x 363x3.50
= Rs.1.45 Lacs.
Cost of Inverter = Rs. 1.75 Lacs
Payback Period = 1.21 Years (15 Months)
