How Internet Affects Life

Nowadays, the use of Internet is increasing especially among adolescence or more accurately,
students. The Internet issue is discussed by the adults and parents. Most of them are worried that
the use of Internet is dangerous to their kids. Some others said that Internet may bring benefits to
their children especially to those who will be sitting for an examination.

On my opinion, Internet has both benefits and drawbacks. First of all, let me talk about the
benefits first. As we know, Internet is mostly used by students. By surfing internet, students can visit
various websites to assist their studies. The examples of popular websites are tutortv.com ,
unicliq.com , and tutor.com.my. They can visit the websites and revise their studies in more exciting
way. Some of them are free. Students can visit it anytime they want. The websites also provide
useful notes and exercises. At the same time, students can get additional information that they
cannot find it in books. For instance, they can go to 'Google' or 'Yahoo' search engines to search for
more ideas to write an essay. In short, Internet provides vast informations and knowledge which is
very beneficial for the students.

Next, Internet also provides lots of social networks such as Facebook , Twitter, MySpace and
many other. Through these social networks, we can add more friends and make new friends. We can
also know friends from other country as these social networks are used internationally. Other than
adding friends, we can also strengthen our relationship with our friends and family who are staying
far away from us using Skype. We can see them in front of our eyes eventhough they are actually far
away from us through web camera.

Besides, Internet also offers entertainment. We canwatch videos of our favourite artists by just
one click through 'Youtube' website. We can also watch favourite movies without paying. Plus, there
are many artists born from 'Youtube'. So, fans can know more about the artists from Youtube.
Meanwhile, 4shared.com provides tracks, videos and files that can be downloaded for free!
Internet users can enjoy themselves at anytime watching their favourite artists' performance for
free.

Internet doen not only offersbenefits for students but also to those who want to gain more
money. It also provides business opportunities. As for example, mudah.my gives a wide room for
surfers to promote anything they want to sell. Through this, people with no job can gain money and
support their lives by doing the online business.
 However, as I said earlier, Internet also brings bad effects to its users. Firstly, it can encourage
cyber crimes. Besides that, students who spend too much time on Internet may neglect their studies
and do not finish their homework. This should be avoided as studies are important especially to
teenagers.

Although Internet can add more friends to our list, yet, it still can develop anti-social
behaviour. Not all of the users use Internet to make friends, someof them only play video games or
just sit down wayching videos on Youtube. They will only sit and ignore what is happening around
them. The worst thing is, they may not realise that there is an earthquake out there! This anti-social
behaviour may leads to health problems. The users will just stay at home and sit in front of
computer and this will cause them to be lazy couch potatoes. It will also lead to obesity.

Next, most students will not attracted to surf knowledgeable websites, but wasting their time
on other non-beneficial things. Wasting timeon Internet can cause students to neglect their studies.
Not only time is wasted but also money. With the uses of more electricity non-stop, utility bills may
increase dramatically. We just not pay for the electric bills but also internet monthly bills.

The conclusion is, everything has its own benefits and drawbacks. However, it depends on how
we are using it. If we spend more time using it for benefits, we will get positive effects. But if we use
it more to non-beneficial things, we will get negative effects. So, it depends on you.

During the last school holidays,my parents decided to bring us for a picnic at the seaside.We hit the
road at 8 a.m.Before leaving,we prepared all the things that was needed for the picnic.After a half an
hour drive,we arrived at Teluk Batik beach.We could feel the smell of salty water as we stepped onto
the beach.There were many people when we arrived there.

Soon,we decided to look for a suitable picnic spot.We decided to spread our mat under a shady
tree.My brother and I lost our patient and had changed into our swimming trunks.My brother who
was still a beginner in swimming swam with the help of a float.We jumped into the crystal clear
seawater.Our warm body chilled when the cold sea water touches our body.The sea water was
savoury!We enjoyed ourselves splashing each other.We were on cloud nine at that moment.

After we were exhausted,we returned to the seashore.We enjoyed the beautiful panoramic
scenery of the blue water.The sight of the white foam on the shore was eye pleasing.I took out a
canned of carbonated drink to quench my thirst.After that,my mother took out the food we had
brought.We made our own sandwiches from the sardine cans and sliced the bread.

My sister and brother decided to build sandcastles while my parents and I enjoyed the sea
breeze.Soon enough,we decided to play beach volleyball.My brother,sister and I were in a team
while my parents were in another team.The match was exciting because the loser would be
punished.The match came to an end.We lost out to my parents.Luckily,my parents only punished us
to pack the things before leaving.

The annual monsoon season has arrived.This causes heavy downpours in many areas.Last Friday
night,there was a heavy downpour in Kampung Jeram.It rained continuously that night.Everyone
was sound asleep and no one imagined what would happen the next morning.

As soon as the villagers woke up in the early morning,they were shocked to see the rising water
surrounding them.The flood has submerged the whole village.The villagers had butterflies in their
stomach when they could not find the way out.They were trapped in the flood water.The villagers
had saved the important documents and some saved their valuables.

The villagers quickly climbed up the roof and waited to be rescued.They were afraid because the
water was still rising.The swift flood water swept away their belongings just in front of their
eyes.Some caring villagers lent a helping hand to the other families and helped them to climb up the
roofs.All of them waited until the arrival of the rescue teams.

Soon enough,a rescue boat arrived at the scene.The villagers who saw the boat screamed for
help.The boat can only accommodate limited villagers.Some of the villagers were saved and brought
into the boat.Soon,another boat arrived and picked up the remaining villagers.All of them were
brought to the community hall and stayed there for temporarily.

Flash flood has been happening during monsoon season at low lying areas like Kampung Jeram.To
prevent fatalities during flash flood,precaution and early alerts should be given.The flood relief
centre have to give early warning siren so that residents can prepare to be evacuated earlier.The
news should also provide regular weather updates during this season.The flood relief centre should
also give information on flood evacuation plans to these residents.As the saying goes,prevention is

As time is gold,one can use his or her leisure time wisely by taking up hobbies.Hobbies can help to

Apart from that,we can make friends through hobbies.We might get to know people from all walks

A Holiday in Cameron Highlands
During last weekend,my parents decided to take us to Cameron Highlands.In the morning,we
packed our clothes and loaded them into my father's car.We hit the road at 7 a.m. in my father's
Suzuki Swift.

The road to Cameron Highlands was crooked and my mother was a bit lightheaded.The road was
filled with fog.The scenery along the road was eye pleasing.We chit-chatted along the way.After a
five hours drive,we arrived at our destination.Cameron Highland has cool mountain air.Although our
country is facing haze problem now,the air there was still free from pollution.It is a form escapism
from all the hustle and bustle of the city life - translating into another dimension of peace and
serenity.

First,we visited to the bee farm.We could see bees flying freely and pollinating.We could
purchased some pure honey and honey products sold there.At first,I was scared to see the bees
flying freely as I thought it would sting us but soon I realised that they wouldn't sting us if we didn't
disturb them.Then,we moved to our second location.

Our second location was the Boh Tea Plantation.The teas were planted on terraced hill slopes.We
also did not miss the chance to take some screenshots there.We also saw a waterfall there.The
sound of water cascading from the top of the mountain was soothing to our ears and nerves.We
were mesmerised by the crystal clear water.Our warm bodies chilled when the cold mountain water
caressed our body.As we were enjoying the waterfall,it started to rain and we dashed to find a spot
to take shelter.

After the heavy downpour,we decided to stop at one of the many strawberry parks in Cameron
Highlands.Before leaving the tea plantation,we made sure to buy some fresh tea.We decided to visit
the Big Red Strawberry Farm.A lot of strawberries were cultivated there.Salad and lettuce plants are
also planted there.We had our tea time there.We bought some strawberries and souvenirs to take
back home.

As the sun slowly set under the horizon,we knew it was time to say goodbye to this awesome
place.We had a whale of a time in Cameron Highlands and we truly enjoyed ourselves.
PT3 English Essay Example : Recount/ Story/ Accident

It was a breezy Saturday morning. I was taking a walk to make a stop at my favourite Mr Raju’s ‘nasi
lemak’ stall before heading to an extra class. I was in a cloud nine after receiving my food to fuel the
day. As I was getting my change, the sound of a loud brake screeching and a bang were vibrating
through the air. I almost dropped my change from the astonishment. There was an accident
happened just a few meters away from the stall!

Within minutes, onlookers were already crowding the place of the event. I also joined to witness the
unfortunate scene. I saw a guy in his brand new car took a huge hit on the back of a school bus. Mr
Raju quickly made a call to the authorities while the other guys were trying to rescue the
unconscious man in the car. Due to the terrible crumple of the black Sedan, they were not able to
take him out. People were getting scared as the smoke of the car was getting thicker and thicker. We
were warned to stand afar.

Luckily, the firefighters arrived along with the ambulance. As fast as lightning, the heroic firemen
used multiple tools to get the poor guy out and quickly put him on a stretcher. He was then sent to
the hospital. Policemen also arrived to secure and jot details of the scene. Investigations were done
and it turns out, the guy was unconscious due to non stop working at night. He rushed home to see
his family yet he couldn’t make it. Thankfully he is now safe and sound in the hospital and there
were no one in the school bus except the driver since it was a Saturday! The driver was also fine and
the bus was able to claim the insurance. After awhile, the crowds dispersed and I continued my
journey to my extra class feeling a bit gloomy.

Accidents like this could be avoided if we take safety precautions seriously. Drivers should not be
driving if they feel like their eyes are as heavy as a stone. They should take a rest at the nearest stop
before hitting the road again. With this, accidents will not happen and everyone will reach their
destination unharmed.
