1 Introduction
The Double Radio Frequency Unit (DRFU) is a Radio Frequency (RF) unit based on
the dual density technology. DRFUs are installed in the indoor macro base station
(including the BTS3900 and the BTS3900L) and the outdoor macro base station
(namely, the BTS3900A). They are usually used in scenarios requiring medium or
small capacity.

Error: Reference source not found shows the exterior of the DRFU.
1.3 GATM
The GSM Antenna and TMA Control module (GATM) is optional. If DRFUs are
configured in the RF cabinet and the Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) antenna or Tower-
Mounted Amplifier (TMA) is required, the GATM must be configured.
The GATM is configured in the BTS3900 or the BTS3900A. Figure a.2 shows the
front panel of the GATM.

Item Specification
DRFU A DRFU supports a maximum of two carriers.
Table 2.5 and Table 2.6 lists the typical power consumption and the maximum power
consumption when the base station works at a temperature of 25°C.
The typical power consumption of a specific base station refers to the maximum power
consumption of the base station when it carries 30% of the total load.
The power consumption listed in this section refers to the power consumption of BTS3900s
with –48 V DC and BTS3900As with AC power supply.
TOC refers to the output power at the duplex port on the BTS.
